Bingie Farm House, located on the pristine South Coast of NSW, is situated 20 minutes drive south from the town of Moruya.

Completed in 1984 Bingie Farm house is without doubt Glenn Murcutt's most famous house. Glenn Murcutt AO is recognised here and overseas as Australia's foremost architect. In 2002 he won the distinguished Pritzker Prize for architecture.

INSIDE THE HOUSE
The house comprises two distinct mirror images (eastern and western sides) and is connected via communal courtyard with internal gas BBQ for easy cooking.

In total, the residence sleeps 10 and is ideal for two families. There are 3 queen bedrooms and 2 single bunk beds (sleeps 4). There are two kitchens with toasters, microwaves, electric kettles and saucepans, crockery and cutlery.

On the eastern side is the main kitchen, master bedroom, private study and bathroom. The main kitchen has an oven, gas cook top, microwave and fridge. There is a Jetmaster gas fireplace, leather lounges, TV, DVD, CD player, as well as dining table and chairs for 8.

The western side has 2 queen bedrooms, the bunkroom, separate shower, toilet and vanity. The western side contains the second kitchen with cooktop and microwave, fridge etc. There is also a second living area, another 8-seater dining table, and comfortable cane lounges, TV and VCR.

The bunkroom is virtually a self contained kids area with table tennis and 2 bunk beds (sleeps four). There is also a second large fridge and deep freezer.

THE SITE
The house is set on 33ha which is slowly regenerating from grazing farm land into natural bushland.
The location and design of the house exploit the northern aspect and assist in passive temperature control in summer and winter. The natural slope of the land provides protection to the south from the fierce weather brought onto the coast by the Pacific Ocean.

The roof line is iconic, as well as practical, catching the rainwater that fills the tank.

The design maximises the views of the surrounding beaches and distant mountains.

The house has been extensively viewed and photographed by architects and lovers of state-of-the-art design around the world, as well as featuring in a number of TV commercials. In 2009 it was featured on an Australian Post stamp.

The house and land are surrounded by the Eurobodalla National Park on three sides. The park is a haven for wildlife and displays diverse habitats.

Bingie Farm is right on the boundary of the Eurobodalla National Park. There are a variety of sign-posted walks within the Park to the north as far as Moruya Heads and to the south as far as Tuross.

There are a number of walks on the Bingie Farm itself. You can climb the hill behind the house and find a spectaular view as far as Montague Island, Mount Dromedary and Narooma to the south. And to the north can see as far as Pigeon House Mountain. You can also make your way around the front paddock using the path to the beach. And also explore the more rugged rear of the property.

There are a host of fantastic attractions within easy reach of Bingie Farm. Moruya markets on Saturday are famous in the area for handicrafts and organic produce. Mogo is an historic town 15 minutes north of Moruya and it boasts the best wildcat zoo in Australia. To the west is the spectacular Araluen range.

Heading south there is Tuross and the wonderful Tuross Lake system. Enjoy the great cafes and or take a picnic and hire a boat to explore the lake. Beyond Tuross and find Bodalla with its host of restaurants. Then there's Narooma - famous for its exquisitely beautiful harbour and wonderful seafood. After Narooma there is historic Tilba Tilba and the mystical Mount Dromedary. For a fantastic and challenging climb take a picnic and half a day to reach the summit and return exhausted and satisfied.
