Description
Designed for relaxing and entertaining, Terragonda is situated on the northern point of Currumbin Hill.
This very private home has magical ocean views of both “Currumbin Alley” (the famous surfing break where Currumbin Creek meets the ocean), and Palm Beach.
The entrance to Terragonda is via the light-filled central timber staircase that also provides access to each of the terraced levels of the property. The 1st level comprises the master and 2nd bedrooms. The huge master bedroom is ensuited with a walk-in robe and features ocean views to the north and east. The 2nd bedroom is ensuited with filtered ocean views to the east.
The ground floor comprises the 3rd and 4th bedrooms, both ensuited. We have recently converted the 3rd bedroom into a nursery to accommodate our ever-expanding “little people” but if necessary, the room can easily be converted back to an “adults only” zone! Opening out from the central staircase is the expansive open plan living and dining area featuring a lounge, dining table for 8 and filtered views to the east.
The gourmet kitchen opens onto the dining area and is fully equipped with all cutlery, crockery and cookware. An informal dining area is accessed though the kitchen and features a breakfast table with seating for 6 and a daybed.
Both the dining and informal dining areas flow out onto the tiled patio with views through the trees to the Pacific Ocean and Palm Beach. The tiled patio then gives access to two timber decks, one containing a couples' day bed - perfect for relaxing on while listening to the sounds of the ocean.
Neighbourhood
Currumbin Beach is located on the unspoilt southern end of Queensland's beautiful Gold Coast, approximately a 1 hr drive south of Brisbane or alternatively a 5-minute drive from Coolangatta Airport. Surfers Paradise / Jupiter’s Casino / Gold Coast theme parks (i.e. Dreamworld / Seaworld / Movieworld / Wet n Wild etc) are all 20- 30 minutes drive to the north, whilst the beautiful Byron Bay (our favourite for Sunday morning brekkie!) is approximately a 1 hr drive to the south.
From Terragonda, Currumbin Beach itself is reached by a short walk through the surrounding National Park and is patrolled every day all year round. In addition- the local surf club is a fabulous spot for a sunset beverage, and for any fitness freaks (like us!) out there - the Currumbin gym would have to be in one of the best locations in the world … a real treat for anyone who likes to box / skip / run etc whilst dipping their toes in the salt water. Tis truly magic!
The property is also within walking distance of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, hosting the world’s largest collection of Australian native animals. Always a real hit with the “little people” … particularly feeding time with the rainbow lorikeets.
Should you tire of the seclusion, the residence is a stone’s throw away from the alfresco dining offered by the restaurants and cafes along the Currumbin beachfront.
