LOCATION LOCATION-YOUR IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING!

A 1 minute drive will take you to our local shopping centre with a Woolworths, hairdresser, family hotel/restaurant, pizza, bottle shop, Thai takeaway, fish n chips, full medical centre, post office and much more. A 5 minute drive will get you to Smithfield, a major shopping centre with both Woolworths, Coles, K-mart and a vast array of variety stores, boutiques, hardware, coffee shops,takeaways and fast food stores. A 10 minute drive will take you to the CBD with shopping centres, Esplanade, Lagoon, Marina, and Restaurants. A 10-15min drive you can choose to visit one of Cairns many Beaches. A 50min drive spend the day at Port Douglas and enjoy all the beauty of this well known destination. A 20min walk will put you on the Kuranda Train to enjoy a day in the Rainforest markets (30min drive if you prefer). REEF AND RAINFOREST AT YOU DOOR

Megs Studio Apartment & Kamerunga Cottage are at the base of Barron Gorge National Park. A short walk will take you directly to the Barron River where fishing is very popular with the locals. Further up the Gorge a 20min walk of a 2 min drive is Stoney Creek a beautiful rainforest creek area where you can jump into deep swimming holes or sun yourself on large creek boulders and paddle in smaller pools for the less adventurous.For bushwalkers a spectacular walk to Glacier Rock also starts from this area and rewards you with a breathtaking view of Cairns the ocean and valley from its peak. At the base of the Barron River is Lake Placid (a 30min walk) nestled between the rainforest clad mountains in the picturesque gorge. A cool swim, paddle on canoe's provided up the river or a BBQ will feed your soul and refresh your mind. A 10min drive will take you to Crystal Cascades another very popular rainforest river experience, nestled in the Redlynch Valley with cool creek swimming spots in abundance; both quiet relaxing areas and a deep diving pools for the adventure seekers. BBQ facilities and picnic table are also available for a great day out.
