Our Mixed Farming Property of 88 acres, studded with old Gums, comprises 30 acres under vine (Riesling, Shiraz, Pinot & Cabernet); 15 acres native eucalypt plantation; 1 acre Muntree Shrubs; the remainder Grazing & is located a mere 20 minutes from the likes of Yalumba & Henschke.

Guests are free to roam the property at their leisure - we have a property map in the cottage to assist!

Edenmae's Two Room Rustic Cottage comfortably accommodates a family of 6 & is fully self-catered for up to 8 (with 660 litre refrigerator, 700 wide stove & every other convenience required of a busy kitchen). There is a well equipped private verandah outback, overlooking the house dam.

Attractions

While the cottage kitchen is very well equipped (including a BBQ out back), folks often prefer to eat out. Seven minutes in either direction will find you three great pubs for meals, two general stores, a butcher, a baker, a take away & Bucks Bistro (more up market than the pubs).

We have several small cellar doors within arms reach (4 to 7 minutes): Bucks Bistro incorporates the cellar door for the Poverty Hill boys. Glen Elden Estate is at the end of our Parkers Road, visit by appointment. Peter Seppelt’s Grand Cru are on the main road to Springton. Suffield Wines is a mere 1km west of Springton town & Partalunga’s cellar door is at the end of our Burns Road. You can of course taste our portfolio at your convenience!

Within 20 minutes you will find multiple places of interest: the Barossa Valley; Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park; the Whispering Wall; the Big Rocking Horse; the National Motor Museum; the Barossa Cheese Factory; and the Herbig Tree.

Within 30 minutes you could find yourself sitting on the grassy banks of the Murray River in Mannum. Or in the opposite direction, on the lake of Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, in between a few stops at some of the best wineries Australia has to offer!

Eden Valley

"The Barossa" is divided into two valleys... The warm climate Barossa Valley & the cool climate Eden Valley. Eden Valley is then gifted with it's sub region High Eden.

Edenmae Estate is very fortunate to be sitting between the Barossa Valley & the Adelaide Hills - making it a short 20 minute drive to either destination - and a one hour drive to Adelaide's CBD.

The Estate sits atop the southernmost boundary of the Eden Valley - making it quite elevated for South Australia at 455m above sea level. Hence our winters are rather chilly & our summer evenings bring relief from hot dry days.

We are typically considered Mediterranean with Summer temperatures varying between 10°c to 45°c & Winter Temperatures from -2°c to 25°c. So it’s a good idea to pack jumpers/pullovers irrespective of the season!

Eden Valley is renowned for it's zesty Rieslings & with the Barossa's Shiraz just North & the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon just South - what more could you want??

  • "We had a wonderful time at Edenmae, Michelle is the warmest host we had encountered during our visit in Australia. Apart from daily highlight of collecting fresh eggs, kids love playing with the Border Collies, particulary the 4-month-old pup Bonnie, they are still constantly talking about her. The beds and sheets are of very high quality, very comfy.. Kitchen is also well equiped with high quality utensils and cookware, we cooked for both nights there. There are lots of board games (more than we have at home!) and toys to entertain in case of a bad weather. And Michele's home baked bread is also what we look forward everynight..."

  • "We enjoyed our 2 days stay, the boys particularly enjoyed the interaction with the animals and the Quad bike ride, pony rides, collecting the eggs, picking grapes and loved the friendly dogs. Every thing was spotlessly clean, especially the linen on the comfortable clean beds.Michele went above and beyond the normal service you would expect. We have recommended Edenmai to all friends. will one day return ourselves. "
