Description
Indulge yourself with three levels of sophisticated beach-side luxury perched right at the cliff's edge.
Originally built in the early 1900's Sheerwater is a dramatic conversion of Scarborough's historic village cinema, where over-sized living areas, soaring 5 metre ceilings, and panoramic ocean views, are the new feature attraction.
On the upper level you will find the main living area & observation deck, along with 3 incredibly spacious bedrooms and 2 sleek, modern bathrooms. The living area boasts a gourmet kitchen, floor to ceiling windows, air-conditioning, DVD, stereo, Pay-TV, HD plasma TV, absolute ocean-view BBQ, and a cozy log fire.
The middle level features a completely self contained living space along with: living & dining areas, fireplace, covered deck, TV & DVD, a complete kitchen, 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with an oversized spa bath.
On the third level there is a massive games room complete with a kitchenette, fusball table, dart board, plasma TV & DVD player.
All bedrooms feature ceiling fans & huge built-in robes.
So Much to See & Do
Whether you're visiting for a weekend or staying for the week there are certainly plenty of nearby attractions to keep you occupied & amused.
Within a short walking distance are: local surfing beaches (including several dog friendly beaches), ocean baths & rock pools, the Scarborough Hotel, the incredible Sea Cliff bridge & public transport.
Within a short driving distance is the wonderful sea-side village of Thirroul to the South where you can browse the boutique shops, grab a coffee at one of the many cafes, or pop in to the bottle shop which has a vast selection of fine wines. There are also two pubs, restaurants where you can dine in or take away, a Bowling club and olympic sized swimming pool. Stanwell Park is to the North, where you can observe hang gliders up close. Other, nearby attractions include the Bulli to Wollongong bike track, Coledale school markets, Symbio Wildlife Park, the Boomerang & Illawarra golf courses, and the inspiring coastal scenery & beaches of the Royal National Park.
If you have more time: picturesque Wollongong Harbour, with it's famous restaurants & fish markets, is only about 20 minutes drive away OR why not enjoy a day at the races down at Kembla Grange. Even Kiama and the Southern Highlands are just 45 minutes away.
Depending on your sense of adventure the area provides the opportunity for sea kayaking, hang gliding, swimming, surfing, snorkelling, dining out, shopping, bush walking, rock & beach fishing, bowling, golf, live music, and bike riding. Don't miss the exhibitions on display at the annual Wings Over Illawarra event held in February.
Enjoying the sun and the ever-changing sights and sounds of the crashing waves, whale watching, or snuggled up by the fire, watching the lightning & storms out to sea, once you've settled in at Sheerwater it's certainly hard to leave.
It's really up to you how little or how much you do!
