Description

Misty Glen sits on the high side of the street in leafy Popes Glen (just like being in a treehouse remarked one of our guests) and offers you an escape from a busy lifestyle. Private and close to bushwalks (Popes Glen walk starts directly opposite), restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, golf courses, swimming pools and only two hours drive from Sydney.

Tastefully decorated bedrooms with queen-size beds, electric blankets and feather quilts. The living room boasts a TV and SD digital DVD recorder, stereo, a gas log fire for winter and reverse cycle air conditioner for summer or winter. You can relax with a book from our small library, watch a movie from our DVD library, listen to one of our CDs, or you can bring your own. In the bathroom there is a relaxing spa bath big enough for two while out on the deck you can look out over the glen as you dine on the meal you cooked on the gas BBQ. The cottage is completely self contained with a fully equipped kitchen.

A continental breakfast is supplied for the first morning.

While normal check-out time is 11:00am, a late check-out of 4:00pm is available for weekend bookings at no extra cost if there is nobody coming in on your departure date but this must be confirmed with management 24 hours prior to check-in. Check-in time is usually from 2:00pm.

NB. PLEASE INDICATE IN YOUR INITIAL ENQUIRY WHETHER OR NOT YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN WILL BE USING THE SECOND BED AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH A DOG.

  • "WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! A beautifully presented retreat, warm, welcoming and full of pleasant treats and surprises. Well maintained and cared for, the perfect getaway and somewhere we will visit again and again...THANK YOU!"

  • "Our stay at Misty Glen was magnificent. The pictures on the website are exactly what you see when you get there (always a concern for me when booking on a website!). From the first G'day email I received, Helen ensured all the pre-booking details were hassle-free. Dealing with them showed over and over again that they do this because they enjoy it, they want to make sure your time away from your home is just as comfortable, if not better than home! The team at Misty Glen have made sure all the little details culminate in to a memorable stay: the welcoming fire, the tim tams and other kitchen supplies, a well stocked kitchen (cutlery, cooking implements etc), a really comfy bed, and even a late check out. Our stay was pure bliss and I could not recommend Misty Glen highly enough."

  • "My friend and I had a great stay at Misty Glen. The location is beautiful even if not quite as close to Blackheath town as advertised! Really appreciated the supplies (particularly the Tim Tams). The cottage is beautiful and very well-equipped. The Pictionary set was also a highlight! One small thing, beware coming on foot from the train station after dark! A very tricky journey, particularly with Google Maps' limited street markings and Blackheath's limited street signage! Overall, a great weekend of spa-bathing, Pictionary, DVDs and antique shopping!"

  • "What a great cottage - lots of character and a welcome fire greeted us on our first night. Our family had a lovely relaxing time and appreciated the little extras. Thanks Misty Glen Team."

  • "This is one of the best places we've ever stayed in. The house is so cozy and comfortable. Even though our stay was in the winter, the big gas heater easily kept the place warm. The generous supply of food provisions were a nice touch. We went for some pleasant long walks around Blackheath which were greatly enjoyed by our little cavalier king charles spaniel, Henry. We definitely intend to return!"
    Tony, June 2010

  • "Excellent amenity, nice attention to detail and surprise treats. Beautifully quiet and an extra advantage can take the dog. Mastered the driveway on last day. Would be useful to have a railing on the bottom steps for us oldies."
    Jenny, May 2010

  • "Thankyou , we had a really lovely stay. The cottage was gorgeous, the little extras were very much appreciated and the spa bath was wonderfully relaxing. Surrounded by bush it was very peaceful, just what we needed! Would highly recommend Misty Glen to others. Thank you again :)"

  • "What a lovely place to stay!! The house is so cosy and inviting and the extras, such as milk and bread, are so thoughtful and much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did our dog and the babies. It is the first time we have rented a holiday house with our dog and I must say it was all the more enjoyable because she was with us - thank you. Can't wait till our next stay at Misty Glen!"
    Sarah, March 2010

  • "Our stay was comfy and pleasant. I was surprised with the little extras provided, and the attention to detail that make a stay more enjoyable. The cottage is nicely positioned but yet, peaceful and quiet. Highly recommended Sue, Grahame and 'Gina' (the Maltese)"
