Climate

Rockingham has a Mediterranean climate - mild winters, hot summers. In winter between occasional storms are many days of beautiful sunshine. Summer is beach weather. The temperatures are milder than Perth, and the sea breezes are gentler.

Beaches - wines - galleries - dolphins - penguins

Summer is magical. Relax on the balcony in the late afternoon watching the gentle breezes die out while the blue waters glass over. The sound of children playing on the beach drifts inland. For the more energetic a late afternoon swim after a day's sight seeing and wine tasting is recommended.

Winter in Rockingham is also very special - the crowds have gone, but the wineries, scenery and galleries remain. The fishing is even better, the golf courses less crowded. The unit is fully heated in winter. Regularly dolphins can be seen from the balcony, but for an unforgettable experience take the "Swim with the Dolphins" tour at the nearby jetty. The beach is available year round.

Cockburn Sound is a boating and fishing playground. The nearby Lake Richmond and Yangebup Environment Centre are unique destinations.

Restaurants, Shopping and Entertainment

A selection of top class restaurants ranging from gold plate award winning to take-away are 5 minute's stroll away.

For some retail therapy visit Rockingham Centre, Rockingham City and a huge variety of other locations, for example, Fremantle and Mandurah.

There are two theatre complexes, nightclubs, and a variety of pubs/taverns within minutes.
