A unique cottage centrally located in the heart of Far North Queensland. Situated in the foothills Mt Whitfield and Lumley Hill it is close to the Botanical Gardens, as well as shops and cafes in the boutique precinct of Edge Hill. Only minutes to the airport or the centre of Cairns with its world class restaurants, and gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
The cottage features 2 bedrooms and a sleepout. The 2 bedrooms are airconditioned with fan only in the sleepout. We can provide 2 queensize and 2 single beds (normal arrangement) or optionally 1 queensize and 4 singles. Please specify if you require this option.
There is a large outdoor area comfortably furnished with tables, chairs and gas barbecue. Ideal for relaxing at anytime of the day.

Cat-boat cottage is so named in honour of the Catalina Flying Boat squadrons that made Cairns airport, located at Aeroglen, their home during World War II.

Flecker Botanical Gardens: Only four kilometers from the heart of Cairns City, the Flecker Botanical Gardens are a tropical oasis.
Tanks Arts Centre, 46 Collins Ave Edge Hill. Situated in the Cairns Botanical Gardens precinct, this centre is an innovative and iconic, multi-arts facility, creatively housed in three converted WWII naval oil storage tanks.
Marlin Marina: A trip to the Great Barrier Reef is a must do for any visitor to the region.
The Esplanade and swimming lagoon: fantastic large seawater pool. Great for the kids. Lifeguards on duty. BBQs.
Mount Whitfield Conservation Park: Climb the walking tracks to the summit of Mt Lumley Hill to see another view of this wonderful playground. Accessed through Quarry St, Aeroglen or Collins Avenue, Edge Hill, which is next door to the Flecker Botanic Gardens.
