Darlington Beach House nestles serenely on the rise of a bluff a short stroll from the pristine crystal waters and pure white sands of beautiful Spring and Stapleton beaches on Tasmania's spectacular East coast.
Darlington enjoys stunning ocean views towards Maria Island National park and offers quality 'boutique-style' accommodation over two sunny, spacious levels.
The Beach House was fully renovated throughout 2010, accommodates 8 guests extremely comfortably and is tastefully appointed with stylish contemporary furnishings, quality European appliances (including Miele dishwasher and Catalytic oven), chef's kitchen, beautiful linen, sumptuous beds, Tasmanian hand-made essential oil soaps, spa bath, i-pod docking station, Two Flat Screen HD TV's, two DVD's, I-pod music & DVD library, wood burning fire, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and luxurious underfloor heating in the fully self-contained 'Adult Retreat'.
About Us
At Darlington we have tried to create somewhere truly special - a luxurious tranquil space in which our guests can completely relax and unwind. To that end we have tried to anticipate our guests' every need including many little extras to enhance our guests' experience during their stay.
Although Darlington operates as a single house, Darlington consists of two fully self-contained accommodation levels. There are 3 bedrooms in the upper level (2 Queen Size bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom (the beds can be zipped together to create a KS bed), a large contemporary, open-plan kitchen, dining, living area filled with natural sunlight, a modern bathroom (with spa bath), separate toilet and laundry. In the lower level there is a fully self-contained 'Adult Retreat' providing a fourth bedroom, shower room and second kitchen, living, dining area - ideal for couples and/or families wanting additional privacy, space and/or flexible rental options.
Linen, towels and beach towels are supplied . There is also one porta cot and one high chair (there is a small extra fee for cot linen) and a gate for the stairs.
Darlington is exceptionally well-equipped with a comprehensive DVD and Music Library, two I-pod docking stations, a selection of games, childrens books and toys, binoculars, reference books, magazines, fishing rods and boogie boards. (Mountain bikes for adults and/or teenagers will also be available by Spring 2012.
Darlington is set on a pretty two acre bush garden with an abundance of bird and wildlife and plenty of room for the children to play.
The Beach House has one Barbecue and outdoor settings on both levels. There is also an upper level balcony that runs the breadth of the property where guests can relax and unwind whilst enjoying the gorgeous ocean views with a glass of wine!
Darlington is only a short 4-5 minute drive to the centre of Orford and all other amenities and is also close to other popular beaches. There is ample parking for 4-5 cars at Darlington and more than sufficient room for a boat.

Darlington has a safety Gate for small children at the top of the stairs and a child safety guard for the wood burning fire.

A maximum of 8 guests is allowed at Darlington (including caravans/campervans at the property). NO camping in tents or swags is allowed.
*A $200-$300 bond is required. Fully refundable in accordance with the terms and conditions.
*A Cancellation Policy applies to ALL bookings. A 50% cancellation fee applies to all confirmed bookings.
*Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival incur a 100% cancellation fee unless Darlington can be re-booked for the same booking period and for the same number of guests. Otherwise pro-rata charges apply.
*All rates are quoted Australian dollars including GST and are based on one couple sharing one bedroom.
NOTE; CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR IS A MINIMUM OF 7 DAYS & IS CHARGED AT A FLAT RATE.
Darlington is Ideally situated within a short stroll of two fabulous beaches.
Darlington is also the perfect base from which to explore the East Coast of Tasmania, Award-winning East Coast Wineries, Hobart, Richmond and the famous Coal Valley Wine Region.
The Beach House is close to: Ocean, Beaches, River, Maria Island National Park, Nature and Heritage Trails, State Forest, Spectacular Coastline, Award-winning Wineries, Golf Course & the pretty fishing village of Orford.
Wine tasting, Fishing, Surfing, Boating, Kayaking, Swimming, Scuba-diving, Boogie-boarding, Bush walking, Mountain-biking, Bird watching,Wi Wildlife Spotting, Golfing, Photography & Exploring Australia's Convict History are all popular activities in the area. If none of the above appeal, guests can simply kick back, relax and enjoy the local beaches and beautiful ocean views with a glass of wine!
Darlington is less than one from Hobart with its major drawcards: MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), its famous food and art scene, funky cafes, Salamanca Markets, Pretty Harbour, historic Battery Point, convict built heritage buildings, and majestic Mount Wellington. Darlington is only 40 minutes from Hobart airport.
Freycinet National Park and The Tasman Peninsula (via Wielangta Forest Tourist Drive) are also both a picturesque leisurely day trip away!
If none of the above appeal then you could perhaps just take a leisurely stroll or swim on one of the beautiful beaches close by or simply 'kick back', relax and unwind with a good book and a glass of award winning Tasmanian pinot!
Life can't get much better than that!
