Bundanoon Things To Do

MORTON NATIONAL PARK
Bundanoon used to have 55 guest houses in the 30s to late 50s. Everyone came by rail and the main activity was walking in the Morton Nationally Park, checking out the magnificent views and vigorous walks down to the Bundanoon creek having a swim at the water hole in summer.
CYCLING
Cycling has always been a part of Budnanoon with its bike hire shop. Recently the Highland fling mountain bike event has become famous and led to greater visits for cycling. There are cycling trips around town, in the Park and now in the Wingello and Penrose state forrests.
HEAPS OF OTHER STUFF = Local markets, visits to wineries, shopping in Bowral, including bookshops and cafes or just hanging out in Bundanoon village cafes and eateries. Maybe have a guiness in Bundanoons historical pub after a days waking or cycling.
BUDDHIST THINGS = There are two local Buddhist monasteries worth a visit, check details out with Paddy
LIBRARY: Their is an extensive fiction library in the house, so chill out and read. If your halfway through, pay $3 and take the book or books home.

Extras just ask.

Learn how to make great sourdough or yeasted bread. Paddy was an award winning wood fired oven baker and has run sourdough making bread courses for over 4 years. Ask him for copies of articles written about his bread courses and baking. He will do a demonstration bake with you answer questions and provide you with notes and a sourdough culture to take home to start on your bread making journey.

Chat about bush walking with Paddy, he has a great supply of topo maps. He can guide you to little known special lookouts and walks. He has a map of the great network of bike riding trails in the Morton National Park.
Paddy often walks in these spots with his Beagel Wilson and is happy for guests to accompany him.

  • "What a fantastic place for a family escape ... everything you need - but no antique trims - so a relaxing place to be with the kids ... The bread and produce are a wonderful touch ..."

  • "Paddy's Place was a wonderful home to stay in. Lots of room, made to feel very welcome. The sour dough bread was delicious and very generous. Excellent location in the main street, and would highly recommend a stay here for families or just a small group of friends. We had a great weekend and hope to stay another time. Thanks so much Paddy."

  • "we were welcomed with a huge bowl of fresh broadbeans, lovely vases of roses and chook eggs all from the rather wild garden and lots of freshly baked bread rolls! this was perfect for our group of 10 friends as there are lots of beds and commercial scale cooking equipment plus a coffee machine. The house is on the second level above Paddy's home but it was private with an opening to a small back garden. Not a very large lounge area for so many people but we all fitted around the table and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The railway is just across the road and there was a rooster somewhere but we slept through most of that. Paddy was very helpful and welcoming and even made us some bread dough for coooking our own nan bread for curries on saturday night. Welcoming, comfortable and laid back. We would definately stay again. "

  • "We were the first of what will no doubt be very many lucky guests at Paddys Place. We were welcomed by the wonderful basket of baked breads which we thought could never be eaten even with two families in residence. But they were quickly devoured. Paddys Place makes a wonderful, warm, home like base for exploring the local area. If you enjoy cooking the kitchen is brilliant and there is even a real, commercial coffee machine. Enjoy, Relax. Read,Cycle, Walk. We loved it."
