This magnificent and spacious home, once the residence of an old sea captain, has been delightfully upgraded. The house can comfortably accomodate eight people. This property is the ultimate in beach side living with great sea views from the main bedroom and dining/living area and a short walk to Semaphore, a vibrant seaside suburb of Adelaide.
Local Attractions
This property is ideally located halfway between the Semaphore and Largs Jetty and is located on Adelaide's beautiful suburban beach line not far from historic Port Adelaide. Semaphore, a vibrant seaside suburb, is a short walk away where there are many excellent cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries and the Odeon Cinema. It hosts many summer festivals, including the International Kite Festival and the Annual Greek and Spanish Festivals. There is a mini fun park which boasts a waterslide, mini golf, a wonderful historic carousel, and the famous Ferris wheel of Elvis Presley fame. The bike/walking track which runs from Semaphore to Outer Harbor with many rest and information stops along the way is just across the road. There is the coastal steam train for that special little trip. The beach is wide and sandy and perfect for swimming and the Semaphore & Largs Bay jetties are a refreshing walk away and great for observing the local fishermen cast their lines and crab nets. The Port River Dolphin Trail and Port Adelaide Ships Graveyards are two of the many outdoor activities in the area as well the newly established Port River Dolphin Sanctuary. Covering more than 118 square kilometers, the sanctuary will protect a pod of up to 60 bottle-nosed dolphins living in the Port River and surrounding estuaries. Port Adelaide is steeped in history. There is the Maritime Museum, Light House, New Land Gallery, National Railway Museum, National Military Vehicle Museum, South Australian Aviation Museum and the Australian Museum of Childhood. The Fisherman's Wharf markets are open every Sunday and Public Holidays and there are numerous antiques and collectable shops. Tall ships the 'One & All' and 'Falie' are based here and bookings are taken for day and night cruises. There are also many riverboat cruises and fishing charters available.
Football Park is a short drive away where you can see a game of Australian Rules football, and the airport is a mere 20 minute drive away if you have to catch that early flight.

5 wonderfull days. Its in excellent clean condition, well appointed, High ceilings & Spacious - 2 large living areas allow the family escape space, good heating & cooling.
Beach-front with excellent access to the beach and paved paths along the road side and beach - excellent for wheelchairs - we had one family member wheelchair bound and the facilities suited us to a tee.
The little things you need but didn't remember to take 1st up were just there waiting for us when we arrived. It was so good a nephew who does not willingly spend money offered to book and pay for it another time.

The Esplanade Beach House was there perfect place for two families to get away and enjoy some family bonding moments. The facilities were perfect with two living areas giving the adults and teenages their own space. It was a nice surprise to actually have some essential items already stocked in the pantry. Great location with walking distance to everything you need. We would definitley recommend to our family and freinds.

Everything described is true! This was the perfect home for our family celebration. Fantastic location - one of very few left where you can truly walk across to the beach, and you can also be apart from the hustle/bustle but not too far.
The house was more than we could have wished for. All things we needed, and some extras that were lovely. Space, beauty, views, convenience and all the facilities.
Every guest commented on how perfect it was. We enjoyed two functions to celebrate my husband's 50th. (We live in Melb - most other family lives in SA).
Using this lovely place as our accommodation and celebration(s) venue made it a more personal, and more economical, experience.
Thank you so much!

A great house for a family holiday, with its two living areas and outdoor spaces. Well appointed and most comfortable.
All needs met. Beautifully presented. Excellent zoned air-conditioning.
It felt like a home..so welcoming and nicely furnished.
Lovely outlook and position. Safe beach, quiet area, but still handy to shops, pubs and eateries.
A memorable Xmas.
