Goosewing Cottage is located on an extinct volcano. This executes a powerful affect on the peace and tranquility of the property. It is a favourite place for yoga and meditation. In a rural setting the cottage has picturesque views of surrounding farms and the Brokenback Range from all rooms.

Our cottage is a smart design with loads of light and ventilation. It is stylish and well appointed. All rainwater is harvested and passive solar exposure ensures comfort throughout the year. The generous living area connects to a sun filled north facing terrace. The two bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the cottage for privacy and each contains best quality king sized beds. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite bath room. Enjoy a drink and barb-b-q on the terrace and after the sun sets a star packed sky. Native animals often appear at dusk

The cottage is architect designed. It has polished concrete floors, a cosy wood burning stove, convection microwave and pay TV.

As well as this we include generous breakfast provisions with Chalala micro bakery wood fired museli,eggs from our free range chooks and fresh Vittoria coffee that you can plunge or prepare in the cappicino machine. We also encourage you to save your vegetable waste for the chooks or our worm farm.

Our guests have all loved staying at our cottage and have commented on the wonderful scenery, comfortable beds and generous breakfasts. All plan to return.

What to do and where to find us

When you stay at Goosewing Cottage as well as wine tasting and concerts, hot air ballooning and helicopter rides we are very close to Bistro Moline's at Tallavera Grove and Briar Ridge for good coffee and lunch. Cellar doors only a few minutes drive away include Tallowwood, Tallavera Grove, Mount View wines and Petersons. You may also enjoy bushwalking on sections of the Great North Walk. We are only 15 minutes from historic Wollombi village.

Where to find us

Travelling from Sydney, leave the expressway at the Cessnock turnoff. At Vincent St Cessnock turn right and drive to its end. At the traffic lights turn left onto Wollombi Rd. Drive another 5 km to Bellbird. Just past the Bellbird hotel look for a turn right to the vineyards at Kendall Street. There is a park on the corner dedicated to the mines and a sign to The Vineyards. We are 7.7 km from this turn off. When you reach the T intersection of Mount View Rd turn left up the hill. Just past Bimbadeen lookout turn left to stay on Mt View Rd. We are the next house on the right at the top of the hill after Kings Bridge.

If you decide to come up the tourist route through Wollombi, drive to Millfield, turn left at the vineyard signs into Mt View Rd and drive up 6km. You will passs a T intersection, heading to Cessnock and Mitchell Rd on your left and then we are the next place on the left. (1194)
