Nestled high on the warm northern slopes of the Porongurup Range (1/2 hour from Albany CBD) and in the heart of the Great Southern Wine region with awesome views over the Stirling Ranges, the Sleeping Lady Private Retreat is 5 acres of landscaped garden, avocado and stone fruit orchards. Secluded and peaceful, it is bordered by vineyards and the Porongurup National Park. Wake to the song of a thousand birds and enjoy a glass of local wine on the verandahs or pool deck at sunset with the kangaroos and kookaburras. There is also a good chance you will see blue wrens and red robins splashing in the bird bath.

The Property has one Chalet only. Hence privacy is absolutely guaranteed.

The Sleeping Lady Private Retreat is approximately 4 hours south of Perth, 30 minutes from Albany and 20 minutes from Mt Barker.

It is the perfect spot if you want to spend some days out adventuring and some days at home doing not much at all. A great spot to come home to after a day experiencing the local National Parks and wineries, or a day discovering the prolific squeaky white sand turquoise bays of the southern coast. The Stirling Range (which dominates the view from the property) is 30 minutes away and has some challenging climbs if you need a work-out or if rare flora and fauna excites you.

There are ten wineries within a 10 minute drive! The closest being Castle Rock Estate, with whom we share a driveway.

The Accommodation.

1. CHALET: (self-contained, Sleeps 4, 5 at a squeeze)

The Chalet is a private, secluded and very cosy 2 bedroom open plan cottage with kitchen and laundry facilities. Set up perfectly for small families.
The front verandah has spectacular views down the vineyard rows and across the valley to the Stirling Range. A wood fire and electric blankets keep you cosy in winter and reverse cycle air conditioning keeps you comfortable in summer. Bedroom one has a queen bed and bedroom two has two single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for a family with a full size fridge and oven plus microwave and all crockery. A portable cot and highchair are available on request.
Enjoy the sounds of your kids playing happily outside. Let them run free and explore! The chemical-free orchards are yours to wander through and play equipment is scattered throughout the property. Large areas of lawn are available for ball sports or picnics.
