Somerton is a large spacious family home situated on a level 1 acre of private gardens at the top of Mount Gibraltar, 3 minutes from Bowral.
Security gates begin the charming driveway to the front of Somerton. There is plenty of off street parking and easy flat access to the house for unloading luggage.
"Somerton" is a tasteful combination of contemporary furnishings and original features. High ceilings, timber floors and wide hallways. French doors open from the living room to the private North facing courtyard with barbecue and outdoor table setting.
There is also a TV/Games Room with a table tennis table.
Swing set, trampoline and slides will keep the children entertained while the less active may choose to make use of the outdoor seating and entertaining areas overlooking the gardens.

Antique Stores in Bowral, Mittagong, Moss Vale and Berrima
Dine Out in any of the numerous Restaurants and Cafe's in the surrounding villages of Bowral and Mittagong. Vin Santo's is ideal for family dining and a real local favourite.
Visit the vineyards for wine tasting or a meal ! Only 5 minute drive to Centennial Vineyard and others.
Play golf at any or all of our local golf courses...there are too many to name but for a picturesque, challenging course play the local favourite, Moss Vale. All courses are within an easy 10 minute driving distance of Somerton.
Visit the famous Bradman Museum, only 5 minutes away.
Book a court and play tennis in Bowral or Mittagong.
Check out 'What's On' at our local Cinema on Bong Bong Street in Bowral. One of my old coffee haunts is located just behind the cinema, Coffee Culture...and needless to say they make great coffee...as do 'Elephant Boy' on the main street in Bowral, where you can also enjoy a wonderful lunch, taste the Rangoon Raquet Club sauces in a nostalgic setting with an ambience of the Brittish Raj.
Take a walk through Mt Gibraltar National Park or many other scenic walks in the Highlands.
Feed the Ducks at Lake Alexander in Mittagong. Pack a picnic and enjoy the spectacular Carrington or Fitzroy Falls.
The local swimming pool is nearby or pristine beaches are within an easy 40 minutes drive.
Local produce markets at Bowral Public School 2nd Saturday of every month plus other markets on throughout the highlands at different times.

Somerton is ideal for one or more families or for large groups of friends. It sleeps up to 14 guests comfortably as follows;
Upstairs
Bedroom 1 - Main Bedroom with queen bed, ensuite with spa bath, shower and WIR
Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed
Downstairs
Bedroom 3 - Extra large bedroom with private balcony. It has 4 single beds.
Bedroom 4 - Queen Bed
Bedroom 5 - 2 single beds
The 2 additional rollaway beds fit into any bedroom or into the games room.
Somerton caters very well for elderly guests with only one step to navigate from the carpark to the front door. All of the main living areas (lounge, dining, kitchen, courtyard, laundry, games room and two bathrooms) are all located on the ground floor.
We normally recommend accommodating elderly guests/grand parents or, parents with young children in the front wing of the house. This area has its own private lockable hallway door off the main grand hallway, and comprises two bedrooms and a separate bathroom (bedrooms 4 with Queen Bed and Bedroom 5 has 2 single beds).
Fees quoted for stays at Somerton are based on 1 to 10 guests. Additional guests are quoted as $50 per adult and $20 per child.
