Claymoore was built in 1940 and was extensively renovated in late 2010. It has a number of distinctive Art Deco features including ornate ceiling roses, vents and cornices. The modern kitchen has stone benchtops and its own LCD TV built into the front of the pantry. The open plan allows the cook to be in full view of any other guests in the lounge. Down at the other end of the house is a relaxing sun room that is a beautiful place to have breakfast while the sun streams in or perhaps to have a game of cards away from the TV. The second bathroom makes living with a larger group very convenient. Both bathrooms have a shower and toilet and the main bathroom also has a separate bath.
Less than 2 blocks away the local shopping centre features a Coles supermarket, the Newstead Hotel , a chemist, cake shop, restaurants, newsagency, Post Office, florist, CBA Bank and more.
Bedrooms
Two of the bedrooms each have a queen bed and one of these also has an ensuite. The third bedroom can sleep 5 with one of the two bunks having a double bed on the lower level. A 6th bed can be made up in this bunk room if an extra bed is required.
The sunroom has a comfortable double sofa bed that can be made up if there are more than 10 staying. That makes 12 beds in total.
A baby bath, highchair and a cot without linen are also available on request for no extra charge.
Outside
The paved courtyard just outside the kitchen features man ferns and a barbecue area with outdoor setting. A large old apricot tree shades the area in summer and you are welcome to help yourself to the fruit if you are there at the right time.
If the rate stated is $400 per night (or greater) there is no extra per person charge. Please contact if there is a problem.
A surcharge of $55 for a one night stay will be charged.
For all bookings you may arrive any time after 2pm and please leave on your day of deparure by 10am.

This is a great place for a big family or friends. The place can sleep up to 9 people. Location is convenient. There is a Coles within walk distance together with a Coles Express gas station. The kitchen is great. You can find almost everything you need. There is even a cook book there. It is a regret that we only stayed there for 2 nights.

Claymore is an outstanding property. Our two families of 4 felt comfortable and at home from the moment we walked through the door. The house had everything that we needed from a fully equiped and functional kitchen to books, magazines and dvd's. It is close to the shops and city centre which we were able to walk to. I would highly recommend claymore to anyone visiting Launceston. Thanks Pat!!

A wonderful place to stay - easy to live in - everything you needed was there (and more). Close to town, supermarket within walking distance. Ideal for a couple, family or group. We would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a Launceston site.

We loved this property, every single thing you could think of was provided for a family to relax and enjoy their stay, from board games, to herbal tea, an assortment of books, dvd's and cd's. The house was spacious, clean, inviting and felt just like home, a really welcome atmosphere. The location was perfect, minutes from the city centre, metres from a supermarket and shopping precinct. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your property - Kelli/Damian/Sean/Tia/John/Sarah and Eden.

Claymoore suited the needs of 5 adults and 1 baby superbly. Everything and anything we required was at hand; it really did feel like a home away from home. The house is in a quaint, pretty neighborhood not too far from the main part of Launceston (about a 5-10 mins drive, maybe a 25 min walk). Pat, the owner, was great to deal with and responded virtually straight away to any of our queries. I would definitely recommend Claymoore to friends and family alike.

Really loved our stay at Claymoore. It's a beautiful and comfortable home even for a large group of 2 families like we had. Everything we needed for our convenience was in the home and the kitchen was very well equipped. Exceptionally well located close to the CBD and City Park and 2 streets away from Coles for quick and easy shopping. We found the owners to be very obliging and helpful. Will definitely stay at Claymoore again on our next visit to Launceston.

We had a very enjoyable week at Claymore in the middle of a Tassie winter and really appreciated the well-thought out set up and facilities (especially the kitchen), spacious rooms and the very efficient heating! The location was great - close to shops, supermarket and the city itself. We will definitely stay there when we next come down to Launceston.

We stayed at this fabulous renovated home for 4 weeks in the gap between moving out of our home and moving interstate, and truly enjoyed the comfortable living. The kitchen is beautifully fitted out with just about every utensil you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable, the courtyard was a lovely outdoor space for my 3 year old to play in and for us to enjoy BBQ dinners and the convenience to the local shops and hotel for family friendly pub dinner (2 blocks, easy walking distance) and Launceston CBD was perfect. The owners were also very helpful and easy going. We will definitely book Claymoore for our future visits to Launceston.

Great place in a good location (close to CBD and other services including major supermarket). Recently renovated and very clean and tidy. Only suggestion would be to remove some of the ornaments and displays which are not so child friendly and not realy necessary.
