Simpson Cottage is the ideal get away, summer or winter.

Then there's always the open fire where you can curl up in cozy comfort and relax in style and be transported back in time.

Why Simpson Cottage

"Simpson Cottage" built in the 1870s was the original home of the Simpson family one of the first settlers south of the Hacking River.

Sensitively restored, this cottage provides a unique experience, where you can enjoy the charm of the old cottage with stylish contemporary living.

The cottage consists of 3 bedrooms, including a queen size bed with water views. The second bedroom offers the versatility of a king bed or 2 singles and the third bedroom has 2 bunk beds which is great for 4 kids. It is a perfect house for 2 families or couples.

Throughout the cottage all the original features have been retained including the sitting room with original fireplace, high ceilings and French doors.

The new timber extension at the back of the cottage contains a bathroom with freestanding bath, laundry and kitchen with underfloor heating.

The gazebo beside the cottage is the dining area that seats 8 with a great view out to the water and park beyond.

There is a short 50 metre track and sandstone stairs, just past the outdoor table, that leads down to the Bonnie Vale Beach and park below.

  • "This beautiful property is enchanting from the first moment. Walking from the car to the house, we were stunned at the beauty of the location and the romance of the sandstone. Once inside, however, you realise that this is luxury living as well. We felt very lucky to have the opportunity to stay. The kids had a ball, both in the house and at the local beach. Our 2 families were able to have meals altogether at the outdoor table with the amazing view, and everyone slept well. We definitely hope to come back!!"

  • "We celebrated our engagement with a small picnic at Simpson Cottage with our closest friends and family. We had an amazing weekend. Couldn't have asked for better weather or a more stunning location! Thanks for having us at the Cottage - we didn't want to leave. We received so many compliments from our picnic guests, everyone wanted to move in too! "

  • "We loved Simpson Cottage. For a while, all I could say was "this is paradise". The view is gorgeous - especially in the moonlight with a glass of wine. The history of the place adds another layer. If those walls could talk! "
