A unique and beautiful treehouse on the Hawkesbury River. Two double bedrooms and a large round living area. Relax in your hammock set back in the native landscape of Bar Point with elevated views over the Hawkesbury River.
Fully equiped kitchen, plenty of games, outdoor seating and a 4 burner BBQ on a massive semi circular balcony.
Being boat access only you will hear nothing but the sounds of wildlife and the odd boat passing by. It feels like a million miles from Sydney but it is actually only an hour's journey from the CBD.
The Yurt is a strictly non smoking property. No pets allowed.
THINGS TO DO
Stretch your legs and take a walk through the nature reserve on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. There is plenty of wildlife to spot. Stop off on the Yurt jetty to fish before heading back for a BBQ.
If you hire a tinny then there are plenty of beaches to drive too. You can also try Peats Bite for a lovely lunch just over the water.

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable time in this unique house.
Eddie and Christina are most accommodating. Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven with us.
I hope to be back soon.

Wonderful house, very like living in a tree house. Superb set up, everything with a lovely clean feel to it (no urge to wipe anything before using it!). Brilliant flathead fishing a couple of minutes from the jetty, making the food we brought redundant. We all had a wonderful time!

The Yurt is a delightful hideaway in the trees. Neat, fully equipped and quiet, the Yurt allowed us to escape our crazy urban lives for a couple of days and completely relax before launching into the New Year.
Bar Point is only accessible by water and there are no shops anywhere in the vicinity. The Yurt is a couple of minutes walk from any jetty at Bar Point (and there is a handy wheelbarrow to assist with your baggage). It's a great place to just sit, stare at the hypnotic view of the river, read, walk, cook (make sure you bring all the food you'll need during your stay) and watch the wildlife (including a family of rather charming kookaburras who kept an eye on us). The Yurt also comes with a sizable DVD collection which kept us occupied.
It's a 15 min trip to Bar Point from Brooklyn. Be sure to book your water taxi well in advance, particularly if you're visiting during the Christmas break. Otherwise, you'll end up paying for a more expensive service.
It's worth hiring a tinny to explore the river. Again, book these in advance of your stay, as the river is busy during summer.
If you're looking to escape and do nothing - actually do nothing - then the Yurt is perfect for you. I thoroughly recommend it.

My partner and I spent 4 days at the Yurt and loved every second of it. The location is stunning and the Yurt has beautiful views of the river, trees and surrounding islands from both decks. The interior is not only very comfortable but it is nicely furnished and decorated and everything feels clean and quite new. There was an excellent choice of books and DVDs also available and it was clear that Christina and Eddie want their guests to relax and enjoy themselves.
We enjoyed the visits every morning by a multitude of birds - kookaburras, bush turkeys, parrots etc and feeding them by hand.
We had our own tinny too which was an added bonus as we were able to explore the surrounding area and discover great places for fishing, and picnicing.
We will definitely come back to the Yurt and wouldnt hesitate in recommending it to others.

Great house, quiet and secluded. If going in the rain, worth packing your gumboots, as you could be walking through a bit of wet grass as only part of the path is solid, but well worth it. There is plenty of books and games to play and a beautiful view out on to the river.

Dear Christina,
the Yurt was absolutely amazing, a beautiful house, very well equipped, amazing views, just the perfect place to relax. Even though it rained most of the time it couldn't have been nicer to spend the last few days of the school holidays. You were also so helpful and accommodating, thanks so much, and I don't need to mention how excited we were to find a bottle of sparkling in the fridge! That was such a nice gesture, really appreciated! Thanks again for sharing your house with us, we will be back soon Eva & Family

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Yurt for 3 whole days of wonderful relaxation. Everything you could ask for was provided. The Yurt was modern yet cosy and beautifully laid out. All the little touches made it feel like home (candles, soaps, dvds, books, playstation, hammock)...can't wait to return. A trip to Peats Bite is a must. Would definitely hire a Tinny if going back as would have loved to explore further. Highly recommended.

The Yurt was a truly tranquil place - exactly the kind of trip we were looking for to recharge and relax. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time exploring Bar Point and enjoying our beautiful accomodation and breathtaking views. A real gem!
