Description

Come and find out why Port Stephens is called Blue Water Wonderland. From the balconies of Taronga you have a 180 degree view of the ocean. Fingal Bay is the only patrolled surf beach in the area and it is minutes away (it takes us a tad longer if I walking with a grandchildren.) The beach has a surf area which is patrolled 365 days of the year and just a pleasant walk along the beach there is a quiet surf area for the littlies (see photo).

Shoal Bay, with its restaurants, hotel & clubs is 1 km away and Nelson Bay with its vast array of shops, great restaurants, etc is only a further 2km or 5 minutes in the car.

Also, 2 minutes away is an extensive bike track that allows you to safely ride to Nelson Bay and further. Just great for the kids or for you if you need the exercise. Bikes are available for hire at Shoal Bay. (see photo)

Access to the beach, park, children's play area & bike track is via a walkway directly in front of the townhouse.

Taronga has a large balcony with deck chairs where you can sit, soak up some sun, read, eat & drink with the wonderful view and the gentle sound of the surf before you.

Some of the activities available for you in the Port Stephens and generally only 5 minutes away area are:

Photo gallery & more info

Check out the image gallery on the opening page for more photos of the townhouse (main bedroom) and other photos of the area (beach areas).

The location is in a quiet cul-de-sac with very little traffic.
I have parked my boat in the street directly in front for 10 years and never had a problem should you wish to bring yours.

Behind the townhouse is Tomaree National Park so it is very quiet.

The townhouse is 2 levels.
Downstairs is open plan with lounge, kitchen, dining/ family room, laundry, toilet & shower. The ceilings are high, the light good and the view is extensive. The balcony is very large and completely separated from the townhouse next door for privacy.

Upstairs the main bedroom has a QB, B2 has a DB and B3 has one set of bunks. The TOP BUNK IS UNSUITABLE FOR AN ADULT. All the bedrooms have built in cupboards.

The townhouse is a duplex and the adjacent unit is owned by my best friend so there is the potential for you to book both townhouses and bring another family or extra friends. YOU would need to check on the availability of his unit with HIS Agent whose phone number we can supply.

In case you forget we have books, magazines, DVDs & CDs for your use. If you haven't finished a book take it home with you.

There is a very reliable company with whom we deal if you require linen hire at a reasonable rate.

Guestbook

  • "The house is very well located at Fingal Bay and it certainly has great views. It's large and very comfortable. The only thing I think should be improved is that when you know there will be a person coming to stay to actually take sometime to refresh the place and remove spider webs inside the house. There were quite a few inside the house as we walked thru it when we got there, no spiders at sight but just fine spider webs all over. The house was also a bit dusty and smelly obviously not used for some time. So i think it will be a much better experience to walk into a nice, fresh house at the start of your holiday. It's a small detail that I think will make a difference and it's not a hard thing to get done prior to arrivals. "

  • "A great place with fantastic views across the bay. Owners very friendly "
    Alexandra, December 2008

  • "Fantastic views of the beach and the spit; with the footpath down to the beach just across the road. Everything we needed could be found in the house."
    Michael and Genevieve, February 2008

  • "Our family of 5 enjoyed the stay at Taronga over the Christmas holidays and found that the outlook was fantastic and the close proximity to the beach, only a few minutes walk away, was very appealing. The house was pleasant and airy and with an ocean breeze in the afternoons, the house remained pleasantly cool. I would consider staying there again and recommending it to friends."
