Luxury Waterfront reserve house on Lake Macquarie 1 hr from Hornsby. Located on the waters edge in a beautiful protected bay showcasing magnificent sunsets over the Watagan Mountains (see sunset pics).
There are no boat moorings, whaves or jetties in this bay - just a stunning natural sandy shoreline, lush green grass and gum trees for shade. All outdoor shots were taken from the balcony or from the water directly in front of the house.
You can swim, water-ski, sail, fish, canoe/kayak or spread yourselves out on the foreshore soaking up the atmosphere. If you bring a boat it can be easily beached in front of the house with the added bonus of an all weather boat ramp 1 minute away.
After a great day of fun and relaxation you can retreat to the oversized balcony toasting sunsets you will never forget while the steaks sizzle on the bbq.
About the Home:
Home has fully ducted reverse cycle air conditioning, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Five star beds with luxurious bed linen included in your stay.
One of the best features of the house is the large open plan kitchen dining and lounge area that leads onto the oversized deck.
Layout - Upstairs:
2 bathrooms; 3 bedrooms ( 2 x queens with flat screen tvs, 1 x 2 singles). You will experience a luxurious nights sleep. Fully equipped Chef's kitchen with double oven, dishwasher, side by side fridge/freezer. Large open plan lounge/dining area
Huge balcony with 4 burner stainless steel gas bbq .
Downstairs:
Rumpus room or huge 4th bedroom. Contains 2 sofa beds, flat screen tv, has direct access to outdoor entertaining area and comes with own bathroom. Popular as teenage retreat. This room faces the water and is accessed from balcony.
Also included are towels, soaps, and other incidentals to make settling in easy. Just bring your own beach towels.
There is also an extensive library of dvds, books and board games.
Sandy Beach is Lake Macquarie's premier recreational boating playground for all motorised and non-motorised watersports. For the fishermen, this location is perfect for bream and flathead.
At Sandy Beach Waterfront Retreat you will not be woken by the noise of traffic, but to the sights and sounds of lorikeets, rosellas and cockatoos. At night you are likely to see possums or hoot owls in the gumtrees. You can grab a torch and maybe catch a few prawns while wading along the waterfront.
Directly in front of the house is a stunning foreshore walk to the local village. This is a popular morning ritual where you can pick up fresh brewed coffee and the morning papers for breakfast on the balcony. The village, which is also opposite the boat ramp is where you will find the local store, newsagency, hairdresser, take-away fish 'n chips, bottle shop, Conrads restaurant, post office, petrol station etc. Fuel is sold here at very competitive prices.
The popular Sandy Beach Reserve Picnic Area is only 300 metres away along the foreshore and has a buoyed swimming area and children's playground.
Summerland Point has a licensed Tennis Club or 5 mins by car is Gwandalan Bowling Club with a Chinese Restaurant. For a bit more excitement there is always the Doyalson RSL (Doylo) or Swansea RSL (both have bus pick up service)
About 10 minutes away there is the beautiful Munmorah State Conservation Area that gives acces to beautiful beaches (Frazer and Birdie) picnic areas, walking tracks and spectacular ocean views.
The Watagan Mountains (day trip) are a pristine natural wilderness area combining national park and state forest.
Catherine Hill Bay - about a 15 minute drive. Great pub, great historic mining village, beautiful surfing beach.
The Newcastle Foreshore and its famous beaches are only 40 minutes away. The Entrance is about 30 minutes, Hunter Valley Vineyards 50 mins, local surf beaches including Frazer Park, Catherine Hill Bay, Caves Beach only 10 minutes away, Wattagan Mountains 20 minutes away, major shopping centres 20 minutes. Mecure Raffertys Resort and Restaurant 10 minutes away.
