Description

Ideal for families or groups, our delightful farm house has 4 large bedrooms, 3 of which have queen beds and 1 with 3 single beds. There is also a sofa lounge for the larger groups. The kitchen is fully equiped for cooking if you please and there is a large outdoor entertaining area and BBQ. We are a short 4km drive to the nearest restaurant. Dungog, the closest town, is 17 kms drive and has many eating options.

Families can come and stay in our comfortable, self contained farmhouse and enjoy farm living at its best. The house is situated in the middle of our 170 cow dairy farm. You can be as involved as you want in the milkings - or not. There are calves to feed and hen eggs to collect. Our farm is 800 acres and there is approx 1 km of double sided river frontage. There are plenty of swimming holes and also a canoe for your use. If you can sit quietly our resident platypus may entertain you.

Chichester Dam with its natural beauty is a 5 minute drive. We have two Community tennis courts within a five minute walk. There are forest drives, walks, bike trails, amazing scenery and fresh air. We live in a peaceful, pretty area with natural attractions galore. Our local vineyard is approx 30 mins drive and we are a 1.5 hour drive from The Hunter Valley vineyards.
Other activities include strolling through the historic town of Dungog, browsing through the museum, or watching a movie in the restored picture theatre.

We also have limited private, unserviced camping areas available on the banks of the Chichester River.

  • "Had a great time staying at Rodane Farmstay. The kids especially loved watching the milking, and feeding the calves. They wanted to take Baxter the farm dog home with them!! The house is beautiful and we'll definately be back!"

  • "Simply a lovely place to relax and unwind. Great house, nice and spacious. Excellent yard for the kids, with trampolines and swings. Beautiful river. And lovely hosts, that allow you an up-close look at how a dairy farm runs. Will definitely go back."
    Tim, October 2011

  • "Don't want to brag to loudly in case others find this piece of paradise. The accommodation was fabulous, everything at hand. Large rooms with views all around. Quiet, peaceful and great hosts. A place of total relaxation. Loved the fireplace, having a long bath and cooking our seafood feast on the BBQ. Not to mention the fresh eggs and the challenge of getting them without the girls escaping! Thanks to Rodney and Anne, we will see you again! Gail, Claudia, Neelix and Bigbird xx "
    Claudia, September 2011

  • "This is a great farmstay experience. The kids had a ball visiting the cows at milking time each day. The house was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. Very welcoming hosts and such pretty countryside. Remember to take your gumboots!"

  • "Jenny, Sydney Perfect farmstay. Warm and cosy house. Friendly hosts. Lots of space/activities to entertain the kids (and adults). My 9- and 11-year-old boys loved collecting the eggs; playing on the giant trampoline; watching the cows get milked; going on quad-bike rides with the 'farmer'; riding their bikes; playing tennis; canoeing on the river; and toasting marshmallows on an open fire. "
