Stonewood Retreat is the newest eco-friendly luxury sanctuary, set on 2.5 acres of lush Australian Tropical Rainforest. This Executive Eco accommodation is set in the very heart of the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park, only 20 minutes away from Cape Tribulation and The Great Barrier Reef.

Stonewood Retreat has been awarded the Advanced Eco Certification Certificate, which illustrates our commitment to maintaining an Eco Friendly & Luxury accommodation at the same time.

Guests can enjoy a stroll through the property's own rainforest and enjoy a swim with turtles and bathe under the waterfalls in the pure water of little Cooper Creek.

Little Cooper Creek runs through the middle of Stonewood Retreat and supplies us with a crystal clear swimming hole, unlimited electricity and all the chemical free, mineral rich water you can drink. It is spring fed and comes from a source high up on Thornton Peak.

There is just so much to enjoy within the retreat, before you start thinking about exploring around the Daintree National Park.

Own Private Natural Pool & Waterfalls

Our natural rock pool is set amongst the most amazing slice of forest in the region. Only a short stroll from the house & within the property, our Nature Pool is a sight to behold. ABSOLUTE PRIVATE, described by guests as `just like being on your own "Mossman Gorge". We have been told that images we have taken do not give it the justice it deserves.

You can literally spend hours swimming in our refreshing rock pool or just sit on the giant sun warmed rocks, taking in the views and the ambiance of the Daintree Rainforest.

Natural waterfalls, the gentle but powerful presence of ancient trees and various birds singing, orchestrate an uniquely relaxing melody.

The Retreat

Open spaces that welcome the outside in. Views of the Daintree Rainforest from every corner of the house defines the Retreat.

When you enter the house that is Stonewood Retreat, immediately you get a sense of open plan that allows the sun to spill in from every angle, but filtered through the cool of the forest. Timber beams enhance this philosophy of maintaining a natural surrounding from within, coupled with a generous open plan & modern kitchen.
