Carinya was renovated in 2010 as a 2 bedroom cottage with a large veranda overlooking forest and grazing land. Unlike B&Bs or studios adjoining houses, guests are assured of privacy here. Experience a country retreat complete with friendly cows, chooks and wildlife. Filled with original paintings, local handicrafts and bright morning sun, Carinya has a warm embrace.
Light a mozzie coil and some candles and relax under the stars in the rustic outdoor bath.
In 2011 profits from Carinya helped build 10 houses for homeless families in Cambodia through the fully accredited Tabitha Foundation. In 2012 we hope to build a school or build more houses. Please request a link for further info.
Have breakfast at award winning Harvest Cafe 3 minutes down the road or hang out in Bangalow's many cafes and eccentric shops. Take a stroll around the corner to Gaia Day Spa or walk up Flowers Road for quintesetial hinterland views and chatting to a fluffy mule who loves a pat.
Poochies can stay in comfort in our secure covered dog enclosure with views while you're out exploring.
Buy local produce at the street-side stalls and markets to use in the fully equipped kitchen. Quality tea, coffee, condiments and our own organic eggs are provided. Takeaway meals are available 5 minutes away. We provide a list and description of the best dining experiences close by.
Carinya's 5 acres of pasture and established trees are being transformed into a self sustaining permaculture food forest and rainforest. As part of a Big Scrub rainforest corridor, the property is situated in the top 1% of biodiversity density regions in Australia. Guests can enjoy chance encounters with bandicoots, owls, platypus, wallabies, goannas and sugar glider possums.
Guests enter their own driveway via a subtle entrance and enjoy quiet and seclusion.
Carinya is only 4km off the highway. All roads are sealed and out of flood zones. A tranquil county base close to everything so you don't spend your holiday driving.
No extra charges for linen etc
Tariff is for 4 people in 2 rooms each with a queen sized bed, 1000 count linen and handcrafted quilts.
Quality Egyptian linen and handcrafted quilts, fully equiped kitchen, outdoor bath, local handicrafts,heating, local information pack, crockery, cutlery, towels, microwave, digital TV, DVD player plus selection of DVDs, cd player plus selection of CDs, books, fridge, gas cook top, oven, fans, games and torch for night wildlife walks provided.
Well behaved dogs allowed. Please bring your dog's bedding. Children must be supervised at all times.
