"Bamboo print wallpaper, a painting that bears a passing resemblence to The Green Lady; wood panelled walls and slim-limbed Danish chairs upholstered in out & proud chintz...you could be forgiven for thinking you'd wandered off course on the drive north to this beachside hideaway & somehow ended up at Mad Men-On Sea. But within minutes of arriving at Whitesands, you realise that its eclectic furnishings aren't the only unexpected thing about it.
For a start, there's the space. 2 upstairs living rooms - one with floor to ceiling glass windows, the other snugly positioned at the back of the house, complete with tv & library - mean that if you're unlucky enough to be vacationing here in the company of anyone who falls into the category of Less Than Ideal Housemate, you'll probably still be on speaking terms by the time you check out.
And then there's the proximity to Blueys Beach itself: its pristine sands and foaming breakers are just across the road. Settle back in the leather sofa in the main living room and you can fall into a trance watching them.
Shortly after arriving, we padded over to the beach in time to see a pod of dolphins arcing through the waves: for one incredible instant, they seemed to hang suspended in the transparent grey-green curl of a cresting roller.
Over the next few days we looked several times but didn't see them again. But that's the thing about Whitesands: practically everything about it manages to be beautiful and unexpected at the same time."

Whitesands, named after the amazing white sands of blueys beach will become your favourite home away from home at fabulous Blueys Beach.

2 stories of eclectic interiors, crystal chandeliers, oversized and comfortable furniture, amazing artworks, masses of space both inside and out.

Across the road from the worlds best beach (well we think so anyway).

Built 20 odd years ago, Whitesands is a double storey detached house set in open plan gardens.

Whitesands is not like your average holiday rental. No generic rental furniture here.

When you open the door into your fabulous holiday you enter a spacious house designed for holidaying in style.

On the ground floor is a spacious hallway with stairs to the first floor and also access to the secluded 2nd bedroom. This queensize room has a comfortable bed, built in robes and access to a separate WC and shower room.
Next to this room is a huge rumpus room equipped with 2 single cabin beds, beanbags, TV, DVD and Sony Playstation and a small dining table and stools.

The whole downstairs area works really well for parents and kids as there are easy to clean and sweep stone floors, direct access to the gardens and the garage and the rumpus room is a great place for the kids to escape to.

There is also a laundry with top loader washing machine but no dryer because just outside is the ubiquitous Hills Hoist.

From the hallway, climb the stairs to the first floor and be greeted by soaring cathedral ceilings and sliding doors leading out to the front deck.

Comfortably furnished with teak steamer chairs and benches this is a great place to catch a glimpse of the ocean, check out the surf and smell the ocean air. Its a great sun trap in the morning.

From the welcoming hallway Whitesands unfolds to reveal the fabulous open plan, yet private, floorplan.

At the front of the house is a huge living room. Here you will find huge windows providing views of the headland and the beach directly across the road. The living room is furnished with sisal rugs, a leather sofa long and deep enough to really stretch out on, huge leather armchairs to curl up in, a magical French daybed, the ideal spot to catch an afternoon nap. Stacks of magazines and board games, ipod docking station and a huge Jetmaster woodburning fireplace for those cooler days and nights.
Ceiling fans keep the temperature down in the summertime.

The living room wraps around to the dining area. Furnished wih a huge timber table crowned by an over the top crystal chandelier, pull up a chair and enjoy the meal you have just prepared in the entertainers kitchen. With every implement and piece of equipment required to prepare everything from a simple snack to a full blown dinner party.
Gas stove top, fan forced electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, jug, and enough crockery, glasses and implements to keep everyone happy.

Just beyond the kitchen is the casual TV room, equipped with flat screen TV, dvd player and a huge library of dvd's and books for you to enjoy during your stay.

Out the back of Whitesands with direct access from the dining area is a huge deck. Here you will find the gas bbq, plenty of bench seating and a covered loggia furnished with an outdoor sofa and armchairs. This is the place to catch the afternoon sun. Overlooking the garden and with views of the wooded hillside this is a popular spot for an afternoon nap.

The master bedroom is situated on the first floor of Whitesands with dual access. This room is fabulous. Bamboo wallpaper, dark stained maple floors, cathedral ceiling, crystal chandelier, oversize bedside lamps, huge comfortable kingsize bed, huge window with views to the front of Whitesands towards the beach. This room is quite magical and benefits from a great walk in robe with its own floor length window. A perfect little room that can become a nursery for small children.

The master bathroom adjoins the bedroom and is equipped with a huge corner bath with overhead shower and a double vanity. The master bedroom and the first floo share a separate WC.

The way Whitesands has been designed allows everyone to be connected whilst allowing each guest the room and ability to find a quiet private spot to read, watch movies, cook, snooze, chat, listen to music of just hang out.

Whitesands is a family holiday home with style.
Whitesands retains an atmosphere of beach holidays where the simple pleasures of the beach and enjoying time with family and friends are what counts.

Where is it?

Whitesands is situated at the quiet, southern end of Blueys Beach.
Directly across the road from the beach, its an easy, laid back holiday home.

What is there to do?

Fabulous Blueys Beach is across the road. The neighbouring beaches, Boomerang, Elizabeth and Shelley Beach are within a 5 minute drive. Seal Rocks and its beaches and lighthouse are 20 minutes drive away.
The Great Lakes are on your doorstep with sailing, kayaking, fishing and all kinds of other water based sports are nearby.
Drive inland and explore fascinating rural villages, towns and scenery. The world heritage Barrington Tops are not too far away and further afield are places like Port Macquarie or closer to home the family holiday towns of Forster/Tuncurry offer great holiday ameninties to keep everyone entertained.
