Description

Gorgeous, spacious, character weatherboard cottage surrounded by palm trees with lovely lake views, 3 hrs north of Sydney. Situated in the exclusive "point" area of Smiths Lake village, Blues Cottage was one of the first houses at the point, just a stone's throw from Amaroo Beach, the Frothy Coffee Boatshed and the boatramp. Tastefully furnished with Balinese-style and wicker furniture, open plan living, polished timber floors, french doors opening onto large sunny decks and a wood combustion heater for cosy winter nights.

Sleeps up to 14 people in 5 bedrooms (8 beds). * Prices & specials are based on up to 6 adults and 6 children. Extra adults up to a max of 14 incur an extra charge.

We welcome well-behaved dogs at Blues Cottage by prior arrangement. They have the run of the back deck off the kitchen and the fully fenced back garden. At night, they can sleep in the cosy sunroom, which is covered and enclosed, We regret that dogs are not permitted in the actual house. Doggy tariff is $10 per dog.

Location

Under 3hrs north of Sydney up the Pacific Highway. Blues is located at Smiths Lake, about 10 mins North of Seal Rocks and 25 mins South of Forster, along the Great Lakes Way.

Local Attractions

Guest Reviews
I recently spent a weekend here with 13 friends. Blues Cottage had plenty of space and facilities to fit us all in. With a spacious lounge leading on to an even bigger deck, this is the perfect location for a group of mates to take a weekend away.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely and very relaxing weekend away at Blues Cottage. The tranquility of Smiths Lake brings a peaceful contentment to the visitor.
The cottage is a superb home and made our holiday a little easier with the comforts of home. Plenty of room for a couple like us and looking forward to coming back with friends!
Thanks Jackie - we can't wait to come back!

This is a great place to stay. Furnture is nice and it was clean and simple. The location is wonderful and the house is very spacious. We will use this place again.
Of course there are always ideas for making a place better...
- I think that there was a DVD player upstairs, but no DVDs.
- Strangely, the house was very lacking in basics. We have stayed a many holiday rentals and this was the shortest on essentials like salt, sugar, a single satchet of coffee and tea and a small carton of milk on arrival, that we have ever experienced. There also was NO powder for the washing machine! I rang the caretaker to ask where this may be found and she said they did not provide it! Amazing.

Blues Cottage definately catered well for our large family gathering for a weekend recently. It is equipped with all you need and sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family needs and the log fire kept everyone cosy day and night. Great location and atmosphere and the very friendly possums visiting were a highlight for the kids (even the big kids)!

My husband, two daughters, two dogs and I had a wonderful rest at this great cottage in a great spot. The peacefulness hits you as you walk into the lovely house and the surroundings are just ideal for resting. We were there in the middle of a winter cold snap and the wood fire kept us snug and added to the relaxing atmosphere. The lake is beautiful and its a great spot for quiet walks with the people you love. We will definately be visiting again.

We had a fantastic time. Smiths Lake is ideal for small kids. Very quiet, very friendly, the beaches were outstanding... and the Cottage was beautiful and comfortable. All the necessary amenities and more.

Our family stayed at Blues Cottage for a family reunion over Christmas. The house is very clean and tidy with heaps of space to eat and lounge around. Cool summer breezes keep the house cool and it is really close to lake and quaint coffee shop. A perfect retreat!!!

We spent a long weekend at Blues Cottage and found it to be a great spot, well equipped and attractively furnished and set up, and we loved the slow burning log fire as the winter nights were cool. Recommended.
