Locheilan is situated just minutes off the Newell highway - perfect for an overnight break in your journey. Only 200 kilometres north of Melbourne driving up an excellent highway.
Local Attractions
Locheilan is central to the Murray River, Shepparton with its orchards and retail centre, Echuca with its history and paddlesteamers, and Wangaratta and the high country. There are many local interesting activities - just ask for details. The newly opened Wetlands project is one of them, also an extensive gallery of model cars made by a local enthusiast. The recently published Farm Gate Trail starts at Locheilan and heads north with a wide variety of interesting farms to visit.
