  • "My family & I had not taken a break from our busy lives for 3yrs prior to our resent escape to AVALOKA what a great choice that was... Thank you so much Jon, your property, horses & you are such a pleasure we are sure to be back. I have already recommended you to everyone we know. Thank you for such memorable stay"
    Jackie, May 2012

  • "Two aunties had a bedroom each and 3 adult cousins shared the separate accommodation. Couldn't have been better, with enough space for us all. Spotlessly clean, big fluffy towels, a good base for interesting day trips, plus the serenity of Buddha adding to the peaceful surrounds. Thank you Jon, for your hospitality; we had a lovely weekend. "
    Judy, April 2012

  • "Beautiful property and lovely owners who made us feel welcome. We had a wonderful time in the houses which are so convenient and yet so private either for a family or like us a group of friends. So peaceful and yet so convenient to all the Hunter has to offer. Thank you for a wonderful stay."
    Jeanette, April 2012

  • "Thanks and congratulations to Jon and Emily who have created such a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment. We stayed over the Easter long weekend with six adults which was great value for money. The two houses were beautifully presented with all the comforts of home, privacy for each couple, but close enough to spend maximum family time. Wheelchair access was great, the beds were super comfy and all the kitchen/bbq facilities made life very easy. The place is very tranquil and relaxing, but close enough to the Hunter Valley wineries to enjoy a wine tour which picked us up and dropped us back at our front door! We also enjoyed going for country walks and investigating the head stones at the church graveyard which date back to travellers from the First Fleet. We all went away (relunctantly) feeling we had enjoyed a very special experience and we will definately be heading back to Avaloka for another family get-together. Thanks Jon and Emily! "

  • "thank you for your warm welcome and the added extra's that you provided because we were running late. Our family found Avaloka so comfortable that we all slept so soundly - like we do at home. The 2 homes close together gave us privacy but closeness that was needed to care for the little ones. Our family enjoyed the stay and I would reccommend Avaloka to large families or the extended family staying in your area. It is an amazing place to stay!!!!!!!!!! "

  • "Hi Jon Thanks for a great place to stay! The house was comfy, clean and had everything we needed. The highlights were the "wishing tree" treehouse, the fireplace (since we had a chilly rainy night), the kids dvd's available, use of your veggie garden and last but not least brushing, patting & feeding Honey, your gorgeous Arabian Mare! Thanks also for supplying breakfast goodies - meant we didn't have to go out to find a shop to buy brekky! Kids LOVED it and we'll be back!"
    Lizette, October 2011

  • "We had a lovely time at Avaloka. Very clean and tidy and a friendly owner - recommended!"

  • "Thanks so much Jon for providing my family with such a memorable stay. It was so much more than just the wonderful accommodation; it was valuable time spent with grown children with too busy lives; it was memories being built as we played outside with paper aeroplanes and finally so satisfying just to sit and talk and see how our lives have grown toether and apart. It was a truly inspirational and beautiful weekend; thank you so much Jon for sharing a very special place with us."
    Robynne, October 2011

  • "The house and garden are beautiful. This was a great retreat for our three children as they enjoyed the tree house and the safe open spaces. The house was very clean and welcoming. Items were well stocked. Overall, the property was a pardise to enjoy!!"
    David, October 2011

  • "We loved staying at Avaloka amidst picturesque countryside and mountain views. Thank you Jon for making us feel welcome and we really relaxed in the clean and comfortable accommodation. The warm and cosy fire and the extra touches provided were really appreciated. We enjoyed meditating and walking through the garden and picking fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden for our dinner which made our stay extra special. We look forward to returning soon and spreading the word."
