Wollombi Barnstay is a country escape designed for families or groups looking to get away and enjoy themselves. The Barnstay is ideally located only 3km from the historical town of Wollombi and only 30km from the wineries of the Hunter Valley.

The Barnstay is fully self contained with everything supplied except for food and towels. The property is set on 100 acres overlooking a picturesque dam and features 1.2km of river frontage. We are pet friendly and have amenities available including playground and 3 hold golf coaurse to keep both the kids happy and entertained while also providing the ideal getaway for friends who just want to relax. Minimum group size is 10 people on the weekends and 8 people mid week.

The Barnstay

Converted to accommodation from the original 100 year old barn on the property, The Barnstay was established to provide affordable and value for money accommodation for larger groups. The Barnstay has a large lounge room with combustion fireplace with CD player, books, magazines, dart board for use by guests. In addition, a wide range of board games are also provided. Adjoining the lounge room is the dining room and fully equipped kitchen where the basics such as coffee, oil, sugar, jams etc are provided. Along the back of the Barnstay are four large bedrooms, fitted out with inviting warm doonas. Ceiling fan and heaters are located in each bedroom. The bathroom consists of 3 showers and 3 toilets. Upstairs there are two lofts, one providing further sleeping accommodation and one children’s loft with TV and video ( a wide range of videos are supplied).

Outdoors there is a lovely deck overlooking the dam, BBQ and picnic table. Further picnic tables and BBQ area are also located down by the river.

Activities

Set on 100 acres, the range of activities is only bound by your imagination. There is a volleyball court set up and a range of bat, balls, racquets provided. We have a 3 hole short golf course and children's playground.

There are also quite a few bush tracks for you to explore along with fishing and swimming in the river.

Because we are located close to town, it's not far to enjoy the pub, cafés, art and craft stores and local museum. Or alternatively you may wish to take the wine route and spend the day winding thorough the wineries of the Hunter Valley. Most tour operators are happy to come and collect guests should they wish to organise a private tour of sorts.

We can also provide on the property catering for large groups if requested.

Weekend bookings require a minimum charge $1000 for a 2 night stay . We can cater for up to 25 people. Mid week stays require a minimum booking of $200 per night. Children rates apply. Children under 3 are free.
