Dusodie Holiday Farm is set on the banks of the Chichester River, in the foothills of the Chichester State Forest, 20 minutes from Dungog, 1.5 hours from Newcastle and 5 minutes from Chichester Dam, State forests and the Barrington Tops.

We offer a true farmstay experience, with plenty of farm animals and wildlife for all to enjoy.

A great family getaway, where parents can relax while the children enjoy the freedom of a country lifestyle. Wake to the sounds of abundant birdlife & inhale the crisp, clean country air.

You can choose the accommodation that suits you, either a self contained cottage, or a cabin that over looks the river.

The Cottage and Cabin

The Cottage ( sleeps up to 13 people )

The Cottage has 3 bedrooms, full kitchen facilities, indoor bathroom / toilet, wood fired heater, air conditioning, TV plus a private BBQ and campfire area. Bed Linen, bath towels, fire wood are included in the tariff.

1st Bedroom - double bed

2nd Bedroom - 2 Triple bunk beds plus 1 double futon bed

3rd bedroom - 1 Triple bunk bed. This room adjoins the cottage with separate access, ensuite, fridge, washing machine, tea & coffee making facilities.

The Cabin ( sleeps up to 6 people )

The Cabin has 1 double bedroom with additional beds in the main area. The Galley Kitchen is fully equipped for self catering. Indoor bathroom / toilet, wood fired heater, air conditioning, TV plus a private BBQ and campfire area. Our guests love to sit & watch the horses grazing on the banks of the Chichester River.

Activities

There is plenty to do during your stay although many parents take the time to relax with a good book and a glass of wine while the children play in the cubby, sandpit or test their acrobatic skills on the 14 foot trampoline. Dusodie appeals to families with its focus on the contentment and wellbeing of the children, in a safe and nurturing environment.
Hand Feed the Farm Animals - Feeding occurs in the afternoons or by prior arrangement to accommodate both guests and their hosts. Friendly farm animals include chickens, ducks, goats, cows & horses ( don't forget Mikka the cat who really thinks he's a dog and Bonnie & Buck the dogs who think they are people ! )

Also look out for bandicoots, platypus, native bats and a wide variety of native fauna right at your doorstep.
Fish our Dams for Yabbies or Perch - We supply fishing rods and tackle but you have to dig for your own worms.

Swim in the River or Explore upstream in the Row Boat - Our River Bank has a romantic and old world charm that has hosted weddings and inspired proposals. Our guests can enjoy birdwatching ( bower birds, king parrots, finches, lorrikeets, honey eaters ) It is simply a lovely place to be.

Short drive to the Chichester State Forest - Bush walkers can explore the many tracks only a short drive from Dusodie and then return to enjoy hot showers & a cosy campfire in the evening.

Scenic Forest Drives wind through the Chichester State Forest & Barrington Tops National Parks as far as Gloucester to the North & Scone to the West. Come and see why this area has achieved World Heritage Listing.

Our rates are $100 per night for up to 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 children.
An additional charge of $50 per night per adult and $20 per child will apply for extra people. If you use the tariff calculator, it is incorrect. please contact us for a quote. eg: 2 night stay for 2A and 2C is $280
