Description
For the first morning guests at Deloraine 60's Cottage receive a special gourmet breakfast basket with home made jams, local produce & many extras. The 60's Cottage offers the cosiness & charm of a cottage but the spaciousness & comfort of a 3 bedroom house with entrance, kitchen/dining & seperate lounge. Serviced daily. This newly renovated cottage is tucked away in a quiet street with lovely views over picturesque rolling hills & the spectacular Great Western Tiers Mountain Range.
Apart from the new stream-line kitchen the changes in style to the 60's Cottage were minimal, keeping purity in the crisp, clean lines of the interior. Bright splashes of colour enhance the neutral paint creating a stylish individuality. The eclectic furnishings & decor are enchanced by tasteful artwork, especially a black & white portrait of the goddess of the silver screen, Marilyn Monroe. These little finishing touches & yummy treats make your stay a comfortable, memorable & unique Tassie experience. Plus there are more wonderful surprises........
Experience some of Tasmania’s unique flora & fauna, lofty mountains, network of over 200 limestone caves & with the added bonus of stunning scenery, visit central northern Tasmania. Here the rugged Great Western Tiers Mountain Range, listed World Heritage Wilderness area, meets the rich fertile pastoral land in the Meander Valley.
Using Deloraine as a base, easy drives take the visitor to rainforests & sub-alpine vegetation, where ancient trees grow & tiny wildflowers dot the landscape with colour. Cycling & bushwalking tracks allow the visitor to slow down & view the mosaic of colour in spring & autumn; in summer to smell the bush fragrances on a balmy temperate climate day; in winter sparkling snow capped mountains & crisp air delight the senses. Allow time to catch a glimpse of a native marsupial or pretty bird or try fishing in one of the many trout filled streams & rivers that cascade down from the Central Plateau Lakes.
Add all these magnificent natural wonders to the colonial heritage, and Deloraine becomes a DESTINATION not just a place to pass through. Deloraine is a classified historic town with a charming main street that curves gently down to the Meander River — anyone for trout fishing? The town has a cafe culture & a bohemian, “arts & crafts’ feel, making it a natural choice for the Tasmanian Craft Fair in November each year. The fertility of the lush farmland in the surrounding Meander Valley produces the best ingredients for many specialist eatery outlets. Travellers can feast on a selection of gourmet food delights, such as raspberries, cheeses, honey, salmon, lamb or a juicy beef steak.
Deloraine 60's Cottage is a perfect base near prisine Lakes, Rivers, Wilderness, Cradle Mountain, Wineries, Galleries, Heritage Villages, Shopping & Gourmet Food Outlets. And only a 30 minutes drive to Launceston & Devonport (Airports & Ferry)
