Description
Built in the 1888 this elegant homestead was once home to a wealthy local wool merchant, William Waddell and his wife Emma Davis. The Davis family were equine enthusiasts from the Molong area and the house most likely received its name from one of their racing horses, ‘Nangar’.
Stay in this wonderful remnant of Bathurst's local history minutes from the centre of town, local cafes, University and Mount Panorama. Situated on the Great Western Highway it is an excellent base for exploring local attractions such as Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, Historic Homes of Miss Trail and former Prime Minister Ben Chifley plus the Bathurst Sheep & Cattle Drome.
‘Nangar’ offers 3 large bedrooms with luxury linen. The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, laundry with washing machine and dryer. Comfortable living area includes flat screen TV. Open fireplace in main bedroom, heating throughout and bathroom with separate toilet. This is a non-smoking property and off street parking is available.
At present we are in the process of lovingly restoring ‘Nangar’ to its former glory and we ask that prior to booking that you are mindful of the works being undertaken to the verandah if you have small children. We have priced the accommodation accordingly during this time and are utilising the funds gained from holiday rental of the property to complete the restoration work and thank you for your contribution should you choose to stay at ‘Nangar.’
