Nestled on the fringes of the National Park this calm position offers incredible views across Horseshoe Bay Habour. Considered to be one of the three prime residential locations on Magnetic Island , its rustic character and open plan design is perfect for a luxury tropical holiday.
On The Beach is ideal for those who enjoy getting away from it all without sacrificing luxury living.
This spacious home and guest house is perfect for extended family or group reunions . The main house has a large lounge extending through French concertina doors which flows smoothly onto a large deck, that easily accommodates a dining room table, a leather lounge with a smaller table setting . This deck area completely takes in the panoramic views of Horseshoe Bay and its magnificent sunsets overlooking the Bay.
The main home has a large lounge room, study, powder room and a kitchen that would please the most discerning chef . The main bedroom has a King size bed and an extended en-suite , a second bedroom has a double bed and en-suite which is situated on the mezzanine level .
This property is not suitable for children under 4 years.

Guest House
The guest house has everything.....3 big bedrooms each with Queen size beds, all with en-suites, a lounge with a small kitchenette that has a TV and DVD, bar fridge, sink and coffee -tea making facilities. We also have a single roll-away bed that can be placed in one of the bedrooms if shared bedding isn't preferred, this must not exceed the maximum of 10 guests .
The guest house boasts its own deck which overlooks the tranquillity of the National Parks, where guests can wile away the evening watching the wildlife (we have koalas, lorakettes, possums, ecidnas, kookaburras and wallabies)
The swimming pool can be accessed by the decked breezeway that connects the houses.....directly off the pool is a decked BBQ area overlooking the beach.
Commercial grade bed linen and bath towelling is included as well as pool towels, so no need to pack the towels. This is not a serviced house.

300 metres walk on the beach to Horseshoe Bays cafe hub and water sports
Access to the property is via a tidal creek......hence the saying, where.... No Road Runs......Therefore we require times of arrival and departures to coincide with the tides.The bookings are confirmed and tides taken into account on initial booking please take this into account before changing flight times.. An Argo amphibious 8 wheeler ( an unique experience just on its own) or a 4WD will transport your luggage to the property from the beginning of the beach on your arrival, so please advise us of your arrival time at Horseshoe Bay. An undulating walking track of approx 350 metres is able to be accessed when the creek is too high to wade through, this is not recommended for anyone that is unable to ambulate properly. The walking track leads you to the Horseshoe Bay restaurant -shopping precinct and bus stops. When the creek isn't up due to the tides , it's a straight walk on the beach.
Visitors time and again after having stayed at 'On The Beach' have commented about the casualness of the Island dress modes . You will find that your favourite beach outfit will be worn over and over again and what you have bought in your luggage thinking to wear here, will never be worn. All beach and pool towels will be supplied.
An excellent supermarket and bottle shop in the heart of Horseshoe Bay will supply your culinary and drinking needs . A bus stop 300m from the house will take you to and from the ferry.
Ferry timetables can be accessed online under sealink, the cost of an adult return is approx $30 to Magnetic Island. Payment for On The Beach is payable only through the Stayz online booking system, no other payment system can be accepted.
On The Beach has a strict no functions, gatherings or party policy that exceeds the 10 maximum guests paid for. Please do not request that a function be held at the property after the deposit has been paid, it will not be approved. This is NOT a party house.
Secluded and privledged is the feeling you get when staying at this property, no car scooter or bus noise pollution at this end of the beach, total bliss......you won't want to leave.
AN OVERVIEW OF "MAGGIE"
Just a quick twenty minute ferry trip from Townsville, Magnetic Island is indeed a unique blend of the unspoiled and the best in tourist facilities and experiences. There is only one main road on the island and close to two-thirds of the island is National Park. What better way to keep the best nature can offer right here where you can visit it in comfort! Magnetic Island is 75% National Parks and as such has a strong presence of EPA rangers maintaining the natural beauty on the island. There is a strict no camping and fire ban on Magnetic Island without permits.
Magnetic Island and Townsville are re knowned for averaging more than 300 days of virtually cloud free sunshine every year. That almost guarantees you'll see those famous Australian clear blue skies no matter when you visit.
Temperatures are rarely below 15°C (even at night during winter) and range between 25°C and 32°C during the day depending upon the time of year.
Explore the Island
Picnic Bay ... is still developing and at present is a wonderful sleeping princess
However, just a bit up the road is the privacy of Rocky Bay.
Rocky Bay ... is a quiet, private spot, out of view of passers-by. It is the spot for enjoying the sun or just sitting in quiet contemplation admiring the rocky splendor of Hawkings Point.
Further north along the road, nestled between Hawkings Point and Bright Point, is the settlement of Nelly Bay.
Nelly Bay ... is a friendly village with a welcoming atmosphere, great facilities such as a bank, post office, medical centre and chemist and splendid access to Nelly Bay beach and the Ferry Harbour Facilities.
Nelly Bay also provides access into the National Park along pleasant walking tracks through rainforest and other interesting island environments.
Driving north or taking the National Parks walk leads you to Arcadia on Geoffrey Bay.
Geoffrey Bay & Arcadia ... combine to produce something special. Situated between Bright Point and Bremner Point, Geoffrey Bay and its Fringing Reef is one of 5 Magnetic Island bays gazetted as Marine National Parks.
Arcadia settlement is a classic mixture of old world charm and modern elegance, providing excellent amenities. Adjacent to the sea front, it enjoys all the marine attractions while also offering easy access to the National Park and splendid lookouts from the rocky hills behind.
Just over the hill to the north of Arcadia is the splendid little spot called Alma Bay.
Alma Bay ... is a lovely, sheltered beach and bay within easy walking distance of Arcadia and a favourite spot to spend a lazy day. Snuggled between rocky headlands, Alma Bay is the spot to discover why the locals want to keep Magnetic Island a secret!
North of Alma Bay the road branches. The eastern fork takes you deep into National Park where the first stop is Arthur Bay.
Arthur Bay ...
Swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing on the beach or under the trees, you won't believe how beautiful and peaceful it is.
On the same track north is Florence Bay.
Florence Bay ... is a stunning place. The deep bay within the rocky island has produced a fabulous home for fringing corals and other marine life and provides visitors with unsurpassed visual splendor.
Gowrie Bay has no easy access. Why not take a boat or Jet Ski and see it from the water!
Radical Bay is the end of the road but not the end of the track.
Radical Bay ... is also another beautiful beach but with a northern aspect looking out into the wide blue yonder of the Coral Sea. Here the beach is steeper giving quick access to pleasant deep ocean waters in a pleasant sheltered position.
Balding Bay is accessible from both Radical Bay and Horseshoe Bay by walking track. Both these tracks are accessed directly from "On The Beach"
Horseshoe Bay ... is a great place to spend the whole day or to base your whole Magnetic Island experience from. "On The Beach" has a northerly aspect and catches the cooling summer breezes .The small settlement on the foreshore services the needs of tourists and the local community. There are a variety of hire companies offering everything from fishing rods to Jet Skis for those keen on watersports. Horse rides are available for those with an urge to move about on land at a faster pace while koala watching is at hand for those with a slower pace in mind. The Horseshoe Bay Lagoon Environmental Park is also here for those keen on bird watching and observing tropical wetlands.
Whether you walk along the National Park walks, along the beaches, or around the residential areas you are bound to see a dazzling variety of birds and catch sight of kangaroos, koalas, rock wallabies, possums and small lizards (geckos.)
