Situated in the exclusive 'point' area of Smiths Lake village, Blues Cottage was one of the first houses at the point, just a stone's throw from Amaroo Beach, the Frothy Coffee Boatshed and the boatramp. With a lovely ambience and tastefully furnished with Balinese-style and wicker furniture, Blues has open plan living, polished timber floors, french doors opening onto large sunny decks and a wood combustion heater for cosy winter nights.

We welcome well-behaved dogs at Blues Cottage by prior arrangement. They have the run of the back deck off the kitchen and the fully fenced back garden. At night, they can sleep in the cosy sunroom, which is covered and enclosed, We regret that dogs are not permitted in the actual house. Doggy tariff is $25 per dog per stay.
Location
Blues Cottage is located at Smiths Lake, a small, friendly, fishing village nestled in rainforest between the Great Lakes Way and the actual lake. Typically bypassed by holidaymakers headed for the better-known Blueys and Boomerany beaches at Pacific Palms, Smiths Lake is an oasis of peace, tranquility and birdlife, especially right down by the lake, which is bordered by the Sandbar and the ocean on one side and unspoilt rainforest and national park on all other sides. The few houses that do have lake frontage tend to be set well back and camouflaged by the trees. Smiths Lake is an easy 3.25 hours drive from Sydney's Northern Beaches up the Pacific Highway, 25 minutes South of Forster and 10 minutes North of Seal Rocks.
Local Attractions
Blues Cottage is located in a quiet, peaceful laneway with no through-traffic, surrounded by palm trees. It's in the exclusive 'Point area' of Smiths Lake right near the boatramp and Frothy Coffee Boatshed. It's a lovely spot just to unwind, read a book or go for a walk. Amaroo beach, a small sandy beach on the lake offering safe swimming for children (the size of the beach varies depending on lake height!) and a grass reserve with swings and climbing frame is just a stone's throw from the house. You can fish, waterski or row on the lake and the Frothy Coffee Boatshed overlooking the lake (open to 4pm most days) serves delicious light lunches, coffee, cakes and icecreams. There are great surf beaches at Sandbar, just 5 mins drive from Blues, with lovely bushwalking and a golf course, or a few extra minutes up the road at Pacific Palms you'll find Blueys, Boomerang and Elizabeth Beach (a quieter, patrolled beach backed by National Park). Wallis Lake is just North of Pacifc Palms and Seal Rocks village, lighthouse and beach are 10 minutes South of Blues Cottage.
