    Historical Canberra

Rosebud cottage, sited adjacent to the Belconnen suburb of Cook, is one of a group of vernacular farm buildings built on this site from 1879. This cottage was originally built in nearby Ginninderra Village in 1866 by Mark Southwell. Rosebud was purchased and transported to this position in 1879 by the Shumack family. Owned by the Tully family since the 1930s. An interesting walking track wanders past the group of buildings and walkers can take the track to the summit of nearby Mt Painter (previously locally known as Round Hill).
