This unique eco-lodge was awarded the Blacket Award for a outstanding architectural merit, outside of Metropolitan Sydney, by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Using the latest in eco-friendly technology, it is extremely energy efficient. The Eco Lodge consists of 2 double bedrooms that open onto the mountain grasses. Each enjoys a seperate bathroom. There is also a study that sleeps 3 (1 bunk bed and another small single bed).

Set into the side of the mountain, the lodge is perched above the river and allows you to enjoy the Australian landscape in comfort. Wake up to watch the morning mist roll over the mountain ridge. Enjoy your morning breakfast on the sun drenched deck or lie in a hammock by the river. Extensive bush walking tracks, swimming holes and picnic spots.

Cox's River Rest

Cox's River Rest is set on approximately 1600 acres. It is a mix of grazing paddocks and untamed Australian bushland, and is bounded by a 5 kilometre loop in the Cox's River. The Eco Lodge is an eco-friendly accommodation option on Cox's River Rest.

This secluded escape is situated in the Megalong Valley, only 30 minutes drive from Blackheath in the Blue Mountains (about 1.5-2 hours drive from Sydney). Hidden at the end of the valley and right on the river - bring your mountain walking shoes, hearty books, good food and some great Aussie wine and have a ball!

The property is easily accessible and conveniently close to all the wonderful things the Blue Mountains has to offer, but it also has walks and scenery of its own more than enough to occupy your whole weekend. Maps and ideas are provided at the lodge for your information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent property We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, almost like camping with all the luxuries. We will consider going back again. Only worry we had was the fear of snakes ( as warned in the information pack) as children running around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning The Lodge-Think of your favourite shoes-Cosy,comfortable and unpretentious. The location-simply stunning. Perched sixty metres above a pristine river with wombats, echidna ,roo's and platypus as your companions. As a seasoned world traveller I struggle to come up with a comparable location. For retirees or families wanting adventure in a safe environment then this is for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful location Quaint little lodge set on a picturesque bush farm by the river. It was very comfortable and clean. We spent our time reading and relaxing and just taking in the beautiful surroundings. The lodge was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catered break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We loved it here, my advice of things to take, your own kettle I didnt get a cuppa tea all weekend couldnt seem to get their kettle boiling - lukewarm tea isnt good, take candles - save power turn the lights off we were there in winter had the fire going, it was perfect. Its in middle of nowhere, the only noise is the river running and you - you have a dirt track to go down and we felt much safer being in FWD cars. Don't be put off by the "Eco" part, we had plenty of water and electricity, you just need to mindful of conserving what you have.
