Things to do

The magnificent Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens are just around the corner.
Relaxing (or challenging) bush walks are all around. Rock-climbing too.
In summer, a nearby water hole makes great swimming.
Bilpin, with it's orchards, roadside stalls and Saturday market, is 10 minutes down the road.
The Apple Bar restaurant in Bilpin is sensational.
Mount Vic Flicks cute little country cinema is 20 minutes away.
But once you arrive you probably won't leave the gates of Tomah.

N.B. Please don't smoke and sorry, no pets as they freak out the peacock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing Getaway! Our weekend at Tomah was a perfect getaway from Sydney. Beautifully designed whist still respecting the original features of the property. The gardens are well maintained and the peacocks are impressive! Highlights include the woodfire stove, concrete bath and breathtaking view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So special! We've loved everything, the modern and beautiful architecture that respects the original shack, the fabulous kitchen, the herbs and salads garden with the lemon and orange trees, the fireplace, the peaceful and grandiose view and best of all, the bathroom with open windows on the garden and its birds. So relaxing, unique !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bush retreat Relaxing, authentic, natural - magnificent views and bush, cosy but open to the outdoors at the same time, with so much fantastic double glazing. Loved the fireplace, the AGA, the recycled timber, natural rock and polished concrete - the veggie garden was incredible, we never expected to be able to pick such a variety of greens in the middle of winter, to make super-fresh green smoothies and salads! Stay was too short, we can't wait to go back to explore the many bushwalks and other local pleasures, and just enjoy such a natural and relaxing environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue Mountains Heaven This is the second time we have stayed at Tomah.. It is such a romantic place with magnificent sunsets and a fabulous double bath. We love the calm feeling sitting on the edge of the bush valley. The log fire and the wood stack make the winter nights toasty warm. The veggie garden was still going strong mid-winter and we got 2 eggs from the chickens. We visited the Botanical Gardens, a winter wonderland and we had a delicious lunch at the one hat restaurant. Had to tear ourselves away to get back for the 2nd sunset. Highly recommend.
