Things to do

The magnificent Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens are just around the corner.
Relaxing (or challenging) bush walks are all around. Rock-climbing too.
In summer, a nearby water hole makes great swimming.
Bilpin, with it's orchards, roadside stalls and Saturday market, is 10 minutes down the road.
The Apple Bar restaurant in Bilpin is sensational.
Mount Vic Flicks cute little country cinema is 20 minutes away.
But once you arrive you probably won't leave the gates of Tomah.

N.B. Please don't smoke and sorry, no pets as they freak out the peacock.

Location

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Stunning From the moment we stepped through the door of Tomah, the stress of the week disappeared straight away. The stunning sitting room, the amazing fire place. The kitchen with that fabulous Aga and stepping through the back door to take in the most stunning views of the mountains. Then there is the divine bathroom with the sunken stone bath, just begging to filled, candles lit, doors open, so you can soak away, with a glass of wine in hand. A walk around the gardens is a must and George, the resident peacock, is always around, quite the show pony but if you happen to be there when his Maggie comes by then you are in for a treat as he displays those beautiful feathers. If you get a chance, because trust me it's hard to leave, not only go the the Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens but take a drive to Mt Wilson and go and see Windyridge, an absolutely stunning garden. Our weekend in Tomah was just the most amazing, relaxing time. It was hard to lock the door and drive away. Will most definitely be coming back again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Beautiful Tomah was simply beautiful. The house is set in the beautiful Blue Mountains, and designed so that you can take advantage of the breath taking views and stunning habitat. The peacocks are a magical addition to the natural wildlife. It is gorgeous, comfortable and relaxing with everything you need. From the open fire to the concrete bath (a must with the door open to enjoy the view), it is a 5 star peaceful escape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy going life style for the weekend My girlfriend and I wanted to escape the busy city and slow down the pace for the weekend. This lovely house ticked all the boxes. It rained for one day while we were here, and we decided to stay inside with the fireplace and just relax. With this secluded place and its amazing view, it feels like there is no one to disturb you for a long time.

We've loved everything, the modern and beautiful architecture that respects the original shack, the fabulous kitchen, the herbs and salads garden with the lemon and orange trees, the fireplace, the peaceful and grandiose view and best of all, the bathroom with open windows on the garden and its birds. So relaxing, unique !
