Imperial Cave Jenolan

Jenolan Caves

Jenolan Caves are 45 minutes drive from Tara. Jenolan is Australia's best cave experience. It has a wide range of attractions from easily accessed show caves to true adventure tours. So if you wish to walk or crawl and squeeze there is something for you.

Rockclimbing

Mt Victoria has some great climbing crags near the village - Mt Piddington, Zig Zag and Mt York. Plas-Y-Cymro is a great base camp to stay at while you are in the Bluyes with 2 bolted crags on site.
Steam trains run every weekend

Zig Zag Railway

The ZZR is a Victorian engineering marvel. From in 1869 to 1910 trains heading across the Blue Mountains used the ZZR to descend to western plains. This is a delight for all the family any day of the week. On weekends the experiece is enhanced by the use os steam locomotives.

Hartley Court House

Hartley Village

Hartley is a time capsule minutes from Tara. It is beautifully preserved 19th century village just off the Great Western Highway. It consists of 17 buildings of historic significance dating from the 1837 Greek Revival courthouse to the timber and iron Corneys Garage built in 1945.
