Avaleigh Elms is a well appointed cosy country farm stay cottage with two bedrooms (1 queen and 2 singles). Guests can self cater or come down to the main house for an excellent home cooked breakfast (extra charge).

Meet the resident feature creatures, namely the donkeys, horses, sheep, hens and alpacas on our farm which is in the middle of picturesque prime grazing country.

Just 20 minutes from the wonderful Mayfield Garden with its Water Garden now open all year, except over Christmas.

Caving at Jenolan, Wombeyan or Abercrombie adjacent to the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, trout fishing, mountain bike riding, fossicking, mushrooming and blackberry picking (seasonal), horse riding nearby and bush walking at magnificent Kanangra Boyd National Park.

Our countryside has gentle undulations, perfect for walking out to discover many species of parrots and birds inhabiting the large stands of eucalypts. Village pubs offer hearty country food and a warm welcome.

Avaleigh Elms is two hours drive to the wine and food regions of Orange and Mudgee, 11/2 hours to the town of Goulburn and 2 ½ hours to Canberra on the Tablelands Way.
The property is situated 1250 metres/4000 feet above sea level on the Tablelands Way near the historic town of Oberon.

Don and Jenn are waiting to give you a warm country welcome and advise that Avaleigh Elms now welcomes well behaved pets. Please also note that we have a minimum stay over Christmas period of 3 nights from Dec 18, 2015 to Jan 4, 2016.

Bring your own horse!

Guests are welcome to bring their own horses to ride out into the adjacent State Forest. There are lots of tracks and it is almost impossible to get lost. View the wildlife from horseback in the cool pine forest. Perfect in any weather!
We have secure paddocks and a big yard on water for visiting horses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most amazing place! We took our 2 dogs to Avaleigh Elms for the weekend and had the most magical time. The cabin is a romantic dream come true with a log fire and cosy blankets and it was impressively clean and homely. We were lucky enough to have some snow during our stay which made our experience complete! The dogs had an amazing time walking the hills and fields and making friends with the cows, horses, donkeys, etc and we had a fantastic time watching the families of roos hopping across snow covered fields, taking photos of the wombats and enjoying the farm fresh eggs and delicious baked treats generously supplied by the very friendly owners. We want to go back there already!!
