    Hawkesbury River Postman

    Get onboard for one of the last great river cruises around with Australia's Last Riverboat Postman. Visit the small isolated river communities along the magnificent Hawkesbury River to deliver their mail. Along the way hear stories and commentary of the river and its history. Main cruise operates Monday to Friday from 9.30am-1.15pm and has options with or without lunch. Several other cruises operate during the week.

    900 Macadamia Nut Trees are planted on this picturesque 60 acre property. Much of it is natural rainforest. A delicious macadamia nut content menu is served at the coffee shop for morning and afternoon teas and lunch.     Gosford Regional Art Gallery, 36 Webb Street EAST GOSFORD, has a magnificent Japanese Garden built as a bequest from a generous Japanese Lady wishing to heal the memories of conflict and loss for both sides. There is a very nice restaurant, "Caroline Bay", attached and also a cafe. Well worth a visit about 40 minutes drive from Forest Park.

    Convict wall, drinking hole

    In early settlement days convict labour constructed walls to support roadworks out of local sandstone hewed out of nearby rocks. Taking the northern road through Bucketty to Wollembi, signposts point out historically significant sites.
