Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant Stay We had a great time at Ironbark Lodge. It had a real rustic charm and the hot tub was super. The dining area was very spacious and the photos don't do it justice. Also the welcome bottle of wine from the lovely owners was a nice touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very relaxing stay in the Hunter Valley Had a great stay at Hunter River Retreat. The lodge was very comfy, a lovely log burner, an old school outdoor BBQ, and just had a lovely rustic charm, while having all the modern conveniences you might want (well, no WiFi, but you're in the countryside for a reason!). Would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tranquil location in the heart of wine country The location of this property is quite isolated ... though that is part of it's appeal. The retreat is tranquil, green, relaxing, and soulful. Unfortunately I only got to enjoy 1 night out of 4 due to a family emergency. I hope to one day get back there again to enjoy the experience fully. According to other guests the horses were a big hit and accommodation was comfortable and cozy. Managers are a delight to deal with and the welcome bottle of Hunter Shiraz was a thoughtful touch.
