Selected heritage features have been retained, including the revitalised original exterior brickwork and wide marble staircase inside. The interior of the apartment has the original high ceilings and sash windows.
All linen including Towelling is supplied for your stay.

The apartment is located within 15 minutes walk of 2 small supermarkets and a variety of shops in the Hunter Street mall.

Locality & attractions
As Australias sixth largest city, Newcastle boasts some of our best beaches. Nobbys, Newcastle, Bar, Dixon Park, Merewether and Stockton Beaches are all within 5 km of the apartment. All six beaches are patrolled by lifeguards and offer a safe place to swim and relax. The apartment is situated 100m from Newcastle beach, which is a brief stroll down Ocean Street. Once you are at the beach, you can turn left and walk along the promenade for 5 minutes to the protected ocean baths. The Newcastle Ocean Baths have an Art-Deco style heritage building and pavilion that was built in 1922 and has recently been restored. They have outlets to the ocean to ensure fresh seawater is constantly flowing in and out of the large swimming pools. There are open-air and enclosed showers on-site, shade from the sun and a kiosk for food and drink.
Newcastles' spectacular coastline and pristine beaches have been celebrated with the creation of the Bathers Way, a five kilometre coastal walk that starts at Nobbys and finishes at Merewether Beach. Walking the Bathers Way is a great experience, and offers views of the coastline to Nelson Bay. Newcastle is built around a large working harbour, the entrance to which is guarded by Nobbys Lighthouse and Breakwater. Another walking and cycling track takes you out to the lighthouse where you can watch the whales and dolphins.
The Newcastle East Heritage Walk is self-guided and follows a path about 3 kilometres in length. Sites and surroundings included in the walk are Customs House, the Convict Lumber Yard, Fort Scratchley, Newcastle Ocean Baths and Beach, Christ Church Cathedral and several historic convict-era buildings.
