Sea Acres Rainforest
Walk across the road from Shelly Beach Resort to Sea Acres. Its is a place of natural beauty protecting rare coastal rainforest at Shelly Beach, 4 km south of Town Beach at Port Macquarie. There is an elevated boardwalk through the rainforest (wheelchair-accessible), an information centre, gift shop and café. The Rainforest Centre and Rainforest Café are open every day from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
Allow an hour for the boardwalk and please wear flat walking shoes the boardwalk may be slippery when wet. Volunteer Guides are available, or enjoy the walk at your own pace. The Centre also offers an education program for school groups (K-12). There is a small entry fee to the boardwalk and display.

Billabong Koala Wildlife Park
Only a 15 minute drive from Shelly Beach Resort . Australias world Renowned Koala Breeding Centre.The Park features a wide variety of Australian and exotic animals, reptiles and birds, including: koalas, monkeys, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cassowaries, quolls, crocodiles, lizards, snakes and birds.
Apart from meeting our family of furry friends, we have picnic barbeques, lush gardens and tranquil billabongs covered with water lilies and stocked with koi carp.
Enjoy morning and afternoon tea or lunch in our friendly Cafe and visit our Souvenir and Gift Shop for a huge selection of mementos of your visit to the Park.

Our experts will educate you on this unique Australian icon. After the presentation you have the chance to get up close and personal by having your photograph taken patting a Koala.
Enjoy the antics of our mischievous Black Handed Spider Monkeys. Living an average of 35 years, these guys have the brain capacity of a 7yo child.

Koala Hospital Port Macquarie
Less than a 5 minute drive from Shelly Beach Resort.The Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie, Australia, is the world's first hospital dedicated solely to the care and preservation of koalas. The Hospital has a treatment room, eight Intensive Care Units, a 24 Hour Rescue and Treatment operation and multiple recovery yards. The Hospital has a research affiliation with the University of Sydney, Australia.
Hopefully you will find it interesting enough to want to help us keep our koala Hospital operating by adopting one of our precious koalas located in our Adopt A Wild Koala segment or perhaps you will even pay us a visit if you are ever in Port Macquarie. This site is designed to give you an insight into how and why we as a Society exist.
There is also information for those overseas residents who would like to come and work as a volunteer with us.

Open to the public seven days a week with feeding times 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., we offer a rare insight into the habits of one of the worlds endearing creatures.
If you want to see a free roaming koalas visit the Port Macquarie region or come and see us at the Koala Hospital. We Are here all year round.
Although the hospital is only staffed from 8am till 4:30 p.m. you can roam around the outside of the yards at any time to see the koalas in care.

SKIRMISH DOWN UNDER is a progressive and innovative paintball operation developed in South Australia in 1993 and now with an exciting new facility in Port Macquarie. We ensure our players have the best possible experience with a focus on FUN but with guidelines and procedures in place to provide a safe days entertainment. Our perfect safety record is testament to this. Our fields are well researched and developed providing our patrons with a variety of game scenarios. We use only the best possible equipment and paintballs available. Each player is issued with a Tippmann Custom 98 semi automatic marker, V Force head protection system and camoflague coveralls. Gloves, neck protectors and hats are offered as an option. Ladies are also offered chest and back protectors. Our staff are experienced, helpful and personnable.
