Location - Broken Head
The stretch of beach to the immediate south of the Byron Bay Lighthouse ends at its south point, the tiny settlement of Broken Head, where there will only ever be 17 houses. From the beach you can only see one building, the Byron Bay Lighthouse. Ignore that and you could be transported back 1000 years.
Mostly untouched rainforest, Broken Head is a magical spot positioned only a few minutes from the heart of Byron Bay and boasts a beach with a legendary point break. The beach break is perfect for beginners, and local surf schools often choose to give their students their first wave in the family friendly shallows of the beach. Over the summer months the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
Dolphins and whales are a common sight in the ocean out front. Two of the most deserted and beautiful beaches in the shire, Brays and Kings, are found by walking up Seven Mile Beach road and down tracks through the rainforest. The road begins right outside our front gate.

We had our wedding at Barefoot and stayed with our family for 4 nights and had the most amazing time. The venue is so beautiful and relaxed we felt at ease the whole time we were there. Frances the manager was so helpful and made our special day easy and catered for our stay. We will definitely be back for another visit sometime down the track. This place is paradise!

Wedding at Barefoot
We can honestly say that our wedding at Barefoot and our 4 night stay was the best time of our lives and we wish we could do it all over again, every weekend! Fran the manager of Barefoot was so lovely to deal with and went out of her way to make sure our stay and our wedding day was perfect! Thank you so much! We will always have the best memories of our wedding day ☺ Mr & Mrs Cain

Very stylish, very peaceful, well-kept and thoughtfully run house. Just a minute through the bush to those stunning waves, and the lake entrance just up the beach if the wind gets up. That's if you want to leave the pool at all, which is deconstructed into two parts so you can either drink in it, or you can swim in it - which is what pools are all about. So glad we stayed out of Byron this summer, we often felt we were in the wilderness but could zip into town and see a band if we wanted. Three families (basically one cottage each) heaps of space and privacy, worth the coin.

My family had a memorable holiday at Barefoot. The house is immaculate and uncluttered, I felt like I was at beach monastery. With the pool, the beach and the bikes, our kids slept like logs every night. Great library, great kitchen, great location.

A beautiful property in a stunning location!
We would definitely recommend this property away from the crowds in Byron Bay. Broken Head is a stunning beach and doesn't ever seem to get busy. It's great for surfing. The local shops at Suffolk Park are a short drive away and there's everything you need there cluding a really good Spa and a bakery. The property is stunning and very well equipped. We went with 5 children aged between 5 and 14 for 10 nights and no one get bored! We'd definitely go back; it was a very relaxing holiday!
