Serviced accommodation at its finest!

Batlow House was built in 1922 by a local businessman and his wife. The house is solid brick Federation/Californian bungalow.

Unlike many period houses this house was intact when we found it and many of the wonderful classical features including ornate high ceilings, art deco light fittings, Frett work, polished timbers etc remain today. We have made a few embellishments with modern conveniences to enhance your visit.

Batlow House sits on 1 acre of land 300 metres from the towns CBD. The house backs onto a park with a bubbling brook that you can hear from the back deck.

Batlow is located in the Snowy Mountains. The House is 300 metres from the Snowy Valley Way - a destination in itself for driving, motorbike and bicycle enthusiasts; and is at the doorstep of the NSW Ski Fields, the Kosciusko National Park, the Yarrangobilly Caves, the Snowy Hydro Scheme, trout fishing and highland apple orchards. The ski fields of Mt Selwyn are within 120kms drive and numerous trout fishing spots including the Blowering Dam can be found within an hours easy drive.

We are great pet lovers and understand that you may want to travel with your best friends. Well behaved dogs are welcome and we will attempt to accommodate other pets on a case by case basis.

At this stage the fences are just okay, so care will need to be taken with your furry friends!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cosy, central and great base to explore Our family of four and furry friend Olive had a great time staying at Batlow House in April. The house is well appointed and the rooms are large including a great lounge room with fire place and central heating. The town itself is nice for a wander around especially with the autumn colours - a nice walk from the house will take you to the showground and golf course. The town has a bakery, café, pub, bank and a small supermarket which stocks most things you will need - a bigger shop can be done in Tumut which has a nice riverside walk. We used the house as a base to explore the area - Adelong - a nice walk from the lovely town along the river to the old mine and waterfall with coffee at the pub, the Sugar Pine walk and beyond into the pine forests, a wander around the lovely parklands and river running a block behind the town in Tumbarumba with nice coffee at Nest Café, Yarrongabilly Caves via Talbingo for a swim in the thermal pool and self guided tour and a drive out to Murray One Power Station (not really worth it, wouldn't recommend, dated exhibition and not very knowledgable guide on the brief tour) via beautiful Paddy's Falls where you can stand almost literally right under the falling water - would be a nice place for a dip in summer. The house also has a lovely big yard and deck which catches the morning sun.
