Salt Beach House in Mollymook Beach is under 3 hours from Sydney on the spectacular South Coast of NSW.
The house is ideally positioned for easy access to the sweeping white sands of beautiful Mollymook Beach - just cross the road and you are on the sand in moments.
The long stretch of clear water is perfect for body surfers, board riders and fishermen to enjoy. Strolling along the beach in the early morning or late afternoon is a particular delight. Headlands at both ends of the beach offer protection on windy days. Children will love exploring the rockpools around the Bogey Hole. Bottlenose dolphins are often seen playing in Mollymook Bay, and whales are also spotted as they migrate along the coast. Fish and chips on the beach is a perfect way to end the day.
Explore the magnificent diversity of surrounding coastal, forest and mountain scenery which offers a range of activities year-round. Try the coastal walking track at Narrawallee Inlet, or head inland to climb Pigeon House Mountain, one of the most striking features of Morton National Park. The ascent to the top involves a final demanding climb up ladders, but the reward is the sublime view. Nearby Murramarang National Park offers more walking tracks, as well as opportunities for cycling, bird watching and general nature study. The rugged and remote wilderness area of Budawang National Park provides challenges for more experienced walkers. Further afield, there are wildlife viewing opportunities at Montague Island, with its historic lighthouse and fur seals, Fairy penguins and seabirds.
At the southern end of the beach is Mollymook Golf Club, where you can try the scenic beachside course or the more challenging Hilltop course.
We are 5 minutes by car from the lovely old township of Milton, set in lush farmland on the ridge above the coast. Shop for locally made arts and crafts or fresh local produce, stroll through the historic streets, or relax in one of the cafes lining the main street.
A few minutes to the south you will find the bustling fishing town of Ulladulla, with its picturesque harbour and laid back surf culture. Visit the Fishermens Co-op on the wharf for seafood straight off the boat, take a dip in the historic sea pool, or arrange for a surfing lesson.
Within an hour's drive south is Mogo Zoo, a great place for the kids to see a range of animals close up, including the rare and magnificent White Lions. Old Mogo township is an interesting place to learn about the 1850's gold rush.
There are some wonderful restaurants nearby, featuring fresh local produce. Walk or drive to the award winning Rick Stein's at Bannisters and dine on the sweet seafood of the south coast. Cuppitt's Winery, just outside Milton, offers rustic French food in a glorious rural setting.
Morning newspapers and fresh pastries are available just around the corner at the local shopping centre. Here you will find all the necessities within easy reach - a Foodworks supermarket, bakery, newsagency, pharmacy, liquor shop, deli and fish and chip shop.
