St Marks is a truely unique property set high on top of the hill in Kangaloon. Originally the village church it is now a magnificent home and was featured in Highlife magazine. Two queen size bedrooms both with views overlooking lush countryside. A gourmet kitchen opening into a cosy lounge and dining room with open fire place. Also gas and wall heating. Established gardens and heated spa to count the shooting stars. A truely unique property that has to be seen to be believed. Only one and a half hours drive from Sydney and only 10 minutes into Bowral , St Marks Church is ideally situated with easy access to the whole of The Southern Highlands and within 15 minutes drive from 5 golf courses.

Lovely cosy stay
We loved our stay in this cozy little cottage. The fireplace burned all through the weekend and we enjoyed the warm jacuzzi. We snuggled up with books and took drives to nearby towns. A perfect getaway from the city hustle and bustle

Great weekend retreat
We arrived Friday night, and the fire was already lit, such a nice touch to welcome us. The house is absolutely beautiful. Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, warm and cosy with the big log fire and gas heater. It felt like we were in an English country cottage or a copy of an interiors magazine. The small garden with its privet hedges and outside eating area will be wonderful in the summer. Its so quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted for the weekend. The house was clean and tidy with fresh clean towels and Jan had left us enough logs to last the entire weekend. Jan is a pleasure to deal with, very helpful and we canât wait to go back again. Canât recommend St Markâs enough.

My first thought on entering St Marks was that the cleaners had not been in. The floors, furniture and kitchen were very dusty and the kitchen benches were not clean. The upstairs carpet looked as though it had never been vacuumed. Old buildings do get dusty, but surely when the owner knows guests are arriving, a freshen up should be requested of the cleaners. The Church was bitterly cold on our arrival which also made it very unwelcoming. Disappointing.

Great contryside location
It was beautiful to arrive to a warm fire and great comfy sofas on a rainy, Highlands winter afternoon. The countryside was magical and St Marks clearly a well loved retreat. It might be time for a little revamp but the overall experience was lovely.
