Be completely and utterly enchanted by this 130 year old heritage brick and sandstone home. Originally built in the 1880's as a working farmhouse, it retains the character and charm of yesteryear but offers all modern conveniences and comfort levels from a combustion wood fireplace to Brivis gas central heating and reverse cycle split aircon.

It is ideal for groups wanting to holiday or celebrate together in the Highlands, offering space and privacy for all. With numerous entertaining rooms, 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms it can accommodate 17 guests in comfort. The home and garden are also an ideal location for a small wedding or event with all inclusive catering packages available.

There are two main living areas: an informal central family room with wood heater and the formal lounge/dining area with TV/DVD and access to both the covered bbq terrace and the sun drenched northern verandah via French doors. There are games, books, magazines and DVD's to keep everyone entertained.

The kitchen is a chef's delight, ideal for catering with double commercial St George oven including warmers and a servery through to the main dining room. It is fully equipped including a Nespresso coffee machine, mix master and ceramic cook top. There is also a walk-in-pantry and extra large fridge. An additional drinks fridge is located on the terrace verandah. Both the kitchen and the living/dining room lead out onto the covered terrace with tables for 8-10 and 6-8 and bbq, deck chairs, daybed and low-line sofa.

The garden is almost an acre and boasts seasonal nooks for all occasions, whether it be scones on the verandah, a romantic garden bench or a quiet spot to read.

Please note that the property is unsuitable for young children.

Check-in is 2pm, check-out is 11am unless otherwise arranged.

Bedroom Configuration - Sleeps 16 in 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms

The French Suite enjoys its own private, keyed entrance and offers a queen bed, full ensuite and separate library with sitting room. (Sleeps 2)

The Chinoiserie has a queen bed, adjoining sitting room with Piano, 3-seater lounge, and seating for 6. (Sleeps 2)

The Master Suite has a queen bed and full ensuite. (Sleeps 2)

The Midi (family) Room has a double bed with single bunk overhead plus two single beds. It is off the central family area and opposite the main bathroom. (Sleeps 5).

The Dauphine Room is at a quiet end of the house. (Sleeps 2)

The Courtyard suite is accessed from the outdoor entertaining area and has a king bed, two single beds, a full ensuite and air con. (Sleeps 4)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Winter Escape for large group 12 of us, utilising the 6 bedrooms, had a fantastic, very comfortable, warm winter break for my significant birthday. Accommodation awesome in this large heritage house, especially the ensuites with their own sitting rooms, easily accommodating our party of 12 ! Well equipped with every sort of utensil, cutlery, low combustion wood fire, bedding, BBQ, etc, great garden, convenient location but quiet. The bike ride to the nearest wineries (11 km away) a must if weather good. Phil made a special effort to configure the bedrooms and beds for our party. No hesitation in recommending Highlands Country House.

The venue is beautiful, relaxed and rustic. Exactly what we wanted for our small garden wedding. We had 70 guests and there was more than enough room for everyone. Thank you again to everyone involved in making our wedding day so perfect x

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our Book Club has just had our annual week-end away at Highlands Country House. We had a fantastic time. The house is set in a gorgeous garden with plenty of parking,an easy walk to the Bundanoon shops, lovely bedrooms with enough separate beds for our group of women, a very well equipped kitchen and wonderful lounge areas for relaxing in uggies and dressing gowns! The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. To top it off,the weather was perfect!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We had a winter escape to celebrate my wife's birthday. We invited another very close family. The place was fantastic, many living areas to spread the kids into. The gardens were nice but the weather prevented us using it fully. The fire place in the middle of the house was on and created a warm gathering place. The little towns in the area were full of craft shops so the bank account took a hit. I would gladly recommend and look at coming back. Many thanks for a lovely weekend. - Tony.
