Travelling to all your favourite Sydney icons doesn't get any better than this! Balmain East ferry wharf is only metres away and so is the bus stop. Regular bus routes to the Inner West and 20 minutes to the Queen Victoria Building, Pitt St Mall the central shopping district of Sydney or Town Hall (train station).

Balmain Wharf Apartments are just four exclusive contemporary apartments within a sensitively restored 1840's sandstone building handed down from its original owners. This building was the first pub on the Balmain peninsula and was built by Sydney's first migrants. Originally the site of the Shipwright Arms Hotel, this was a gathering place for ferrymen and tugboat operators for almost a century. Lovers of architecture and social history will love our heritage walks and one-of-a-kind places like the Dawn Fraser outdoor pool.

Directly surrounding our apartments are parklands for morning walks and excellent sunrise photo opportunities. Watch out for the cruise liners that sail past during low tide!

Description of apartments

Each of our 4 apartments has been designed individually to suit different needs and preferences. When enquiring, please include which apartment you are interested in. Our site shows more detailed availability for each apartment.

Typical stays are a minimum of 1 week. We take shorter stays, minimum of 3 days, at an extra $25p/night on top of advertised rates and if there are gaps between existing bookings.

The Shipwright Suite (Apartment 1) is our 2 bedroom penthouse with all the best finishing touches and intact sandstone walls. The only apartment where you can wake up to Sydney Harbour views from a newly renovated bedroom, and enjoy wall to wall window views from within the expansive open plan living and kitchen area. A large 100sqm apartment, it is a perfect home away from home for long stays. One of the bedrooms can be configured either as a king or two single beds.

The Bastion (Apartment 2) is our 2 Bedroom apartment with an open plan living and kitchen area. With a wraparound balcony perfect for reuniting with family and friends around a barbecue or an oven roast, staying in is a treat. Delight at the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge and passing ships of all sizes. One of the bedrooms can be configured either as a king or two single beds.

The Parapet (Apartment 4) opens out onto a large private deck with views of the waterfront. This ground floor 1 bedroom apartment features a queen size bedroom with ensuite stone tiled bathroom, spacious living area and separate galley style kitchen. The Parapet enjoys private access from the parking area adjacent to the building.

The Bartizan (Apartment 3) ground floor apartment is suitable for short stays of less than two weeks. This apartment has a modern kitchenette with a 2 burner stove and bar fridge (but no washing machine). The queen size bedroom and the living space open out onto a private balcony overlooking the harbour - perfect for an evening drink and watching the sparkling lights of the city skyline.

Monthly rate: AUD120p/n

Rates are subject to change. Deposits of up to 28 days and $200 refundable bond are required to secure bookings.

Extra housekeeping charges for public holiday arrivals or departures apply.

Fixed rate of 3 day period for New Years Eve, 30th and 31st Dec and 1st Jan. Waiting list only - open for 2015 and 2016.
