Description

A 15 minute walk to the heart of Sydney via Darling Harbour, City Lights Terrace offers a unique Sydney stay experience. The building was constructed in the 1800's, to house workers employed in the many wool storage buildings in Ultimo and Sydney's Rocks areas. The house is compact, in keeping with its humble beginnings and has the feel of original Sydney town. It has been fully renovated and newly furnished to provide a modern, comfortable home away from home holiday experience.

The terrace has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 6 people plus an infant. It is fully airconditioned. The 3 bedrooms consist of 2 upstairs bedrooms - one with a toilet/wash basin, whilst the downstairs bedroom has a double bunk bed - 2 Singles. Both upstairs bedrooms have Queen size beds. Good quality linen, all bedding and towels are provided. A highchair, cot, bedding, and 2 toddler gates are available by arrangement. There is also a toilet/bathroom on the ground floor.

The stair case is quite steep, typical of a terrace house.

Other features are a private courtyard with a leafy canopy overhead, an outdoor table setting for 6 and BBQ. Double glazed windows have been installed in the front rooms to ensure the house is a quiet retreat for our guests. Attractive polished timber floors and a skylight in the new, fully equipped kitchen. A comfortable, cosy lounge with an LCD TV and home entertainment system. Wireless internet is provided free of charge.

The kitchen has a table setting for 4 and a 2nd table may be added to comfortably seat 6 people. There is no separate dining room. We have provided books, board games, and a selection of over 40 DVD's for relaxing after a day exploring Sydney.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very friendly easy host This property was very easy to book and the communication was amazing. They catered to all our needs and were very good with providing bed chair and gates for a 1 year old. Parking isn't great so best to not have a car if staying here. The house is very well equipped and has almost anything you would ever need. We had a great stay so thanks :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Property January 2015 We had a great stay at City Lights. 6 adults stayed here. It accommodated us all well. Although a little short on bathroom time with 2 teenagers & 4 adults sharing one bathroom. We did manage & we utilised the 2nd toilet/basin well. Steep set of stairs which did not bother us but may bother others. The quality of the linen was beautiful. I appreciate good linen so loved this. The house is well equipped with everything you can think of. Comfy beds, pillows & furniture. Loved it. Nola was such a lovely lady who has thought of everything & was super helpful. When the shower had a little issue it was dealt with so quickly over a weekend. Nothing was a hassle. The location is great with the light rail in 5 min walk which takes you into the heart of Darling Harbour & Ferries/trains/buses. We would recommend this gorgeous property & would stay there again Well Done Nola. You helped make our stay in Sydney fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic location City Lights was the perfect place for us to walk around and explore all the sights & enjoy a taste of inner city living. Much more relaxing than a hotel and having all the extras that a house offers made for an easy family weekend away. Service was excellent and we really appreciated the contact and assistance that was readily available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good position, with everything you need We stayed in this house for a week. First 3 days was 4 adults and 2 small kiddies. With 6 of us at home the living space was a bit cramped, but with 3 or 4 people it is great. Everything you need is available, including a dishwasher and there were plenty of utensils etc. The beds were good, also the linen and towels. The house was clean and everything was working. Very central to the city and 10 minutes walk to the central train station.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great property, Excellent location The property is as described, just one downside is the stair is steeper than expected, little inconvenience for the elders. The location is excellent, minutes away from the Darling Harbour and the Chinatown.
