I got to Alice Springs by travelling on the Ghan railway from Adelaide. Absolutely great train trip. I did not realise how vast Australia is. Alice springs was a very different town with all its cultural differences. Go out at night was a little frightening.

Gateway to the red centre. Explore aires rock and head north up the highway to Kakadu. Definitely worth a visit. The oasis in the desert.

I loved Alice Springs even though it is very hot. I loved the fact that there lots of indigenious people. Uluru is a must and the sunsets and colours of the desert are truly remarkable

From Alice, you can visit a host of places that capture the essence of the heart of the outback. King\'s Canyon was especially memorable and the richness of the colour of the landscape was unforgettable. It\'s hot but does give you a good reason to drink a lot.

It\'s hot here! I only did a stop off here on a red centre tour, and was a little scared after being warned not to go out at night especially over the bridge. The wildlife centre is throughly recommended.

The central outback. Arrived here after a very long road trip from Darwin and it was a welcome return to civilisation. Close enough to Uluru to do it in a daytrip although it\'s best to go overnight so you can see The Rock at sunrise and sunset. Alice has plenty of pubs and restaurants with indigenous artwork and souvenirs everywhere. Didn\'t stay long enough to ahve a agood look around.

Stayed in Alice Springs for five weeks. It can be a bit intimidating at ties, but once you get passd the initial shock of the town, it is a gem.

This place can be very rough, be careful at night, especially by yourself. Hire a car and head out to McDonald Ranges for a day trip.

Very cultural town, so hot, almost too hot for a Kiwi! Fantastic \"Aussie\" things to do like camel riding and visiting an outback shed for an authentic aussie meal.
