Sanctuary House is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Location... That's it. It has taken me a long time to write this review, as i was lost for words for quite some time... Our stay was horrible from the get go. We had booked this house for our family who had traveled from all over Australia to attend our wedding. We had only one key between 5 couples. There wasn't enough cutlery/crockery for the 10 people we had staying there. As we had paid alot of money for this property per night, i didn't think we would have to be eating off plastic plates and using picnic cutlery. Nor was there enough bed linen provided. Luckily for us, our family has a large scouting background, so they're always prepared for the bad times. We had to go and buy another fridge that we found on Gumtree, as the one provided was far too small. The property was advertised when we booked as having 2 bathrooms and a spa. We had one bathroom. So you can imagine the chaos on the morning of our wedding day, when 10 people are trying to get ready in one bathroom, as the owners had denied us entry to the master suite. We had to go out and buy cleaning products and brooms as all the cleaning items were locked away in the cleaners pantry. The last couple of days we stayed, it was raining. The gutters were overflowing horribly and my Aunty had slipped down the ramp going out of the laundry, as there were no handrails on said ramp at the time. This property was up for sale at the time we booked, but not once was there ever any mention of this upon booking. So i could understand if they were renovating, due to the upcoming sale of thier property, but a little heads up would have been nice. The only good thing to come of our time at Sanctuary House was the surroundings and the wildlife. That's it. We didn't enjoy our time INSIDE this property what-so-ever. From our experience, i would suggest saving your money and booking elsewhere as you will encounter ALOT less stress that way...
